Siamo venuti in Spagna per oltre 27 anni e in questo periodo abbiamo soggiornato in alcuni buoni hotel e in alcuni dove abbiamo interrogato la classificazione 5 stelle. Il nostro tour della Spagna settentrionale si è concluso con 2 notti a Palacio de Luces, che è probabilmente il miglior hotel che abbiamo mai soggiornato in tutta la Spagna. La nostra camera era immacolata e la qualità degli attrezzi superava molti degli hotel 5 stelle che abbiamo soggiornato.Le viste dalle aree pubbliche sono sorprendenti, rendendo più impressionante il piano fino al tetto degli schermi di vetro. Il ristorante è stato prenotato per una seconda notte, e il cibo era meraviglioso e il personale era molto orgoglioso di offrire un servizio eccellente. Infine, la zona spa sembra costruita ieri. E' immacolata, tranquilla e un meraviglioso supplemento per gli ospiti stanchi dopo un giorno di esplorare le città locali che sono molto colline! ( le scarpe comode sono un must). Hotel centrali e confortevoli, vicino al ponte romano, nella piazza del villaggio, vicino al Comune. Nella parte posteriore c'è un parcheggio grande ma è pagato fino a sabato pomeriggio, anche se ci sono zone vicine per parcheggiare gratuitamente. Il personale di accoglienza è piacevole. La camera molto vasta e decorata con gusto, sembra rinnovata, un grande bagno con doccia e bagno gigante. Le mutandine sono comode e il letto grande ma nel centro c'era come una differenza di altezza, è possibile che si formano 2 letti di diverso spessore o 2 somiere con l'adeguamento delle gambe diverse. Ha anche un divano che diventa letto. Le persiane hanno tasti di salita e scarica automatica. TV grande con molti canali. Nel bagno, nella zona specchio c'è poco illuminazione e è scarsa per la maquilla**** o guardare con chiarezza il viso .... La colazione varia con frutta, iogurt, caffè e infusioni, succo e bollitore industriale ma saporoso e infilato. Non ci sono uova, né bacon o simili, ma è buono e basta per uscire dal hotel. Se torno per la zona ripeterò. L'hotel dispone di bar e ristorante, che ha un buon dipinto, con terrazza, e si vede frequentato dai locali.

Ho comprato un pack per 2 adulti e 2 bambini con accesso al spa e cena incluso. Il check-in si svolge solo alle 15:00. Non ho ricevuto più informazioni specifiche dell'hotel. Ho fatto il check-in alle 17:00 e sono informato che i bambini hanno accesso alla piscina solo alle 13:00 e con l'ultima entrata alle 16:30, quindi non potevano più andare alla piscina. C'è stata una grave carenza di comunicazione dell'hotel perché ho comprato un pacchetto con accesso alla piscina che non era possibile realizzare. Fortunatamente, la receptionista che era stasera non era la stessa e era abbastanza comprensiva della situazione, per permetterci di godere del Spa in famiglia il giorno successivo tra le 13 e le 14:30.

We stayed on June 2019. Great hotel at an exceptional location. Because we were three we booked a junior suite which has two rooms with two bathrooms and a living room where an espresso machine was our salvation on the quest of a Cuban coffee. The best of the room was the views from every window, you could see the entire Basilica and the Santina cave from the room. Breakfast buffet was really good with variety and quality. Staff nice and professional. The proximity to the lakes allow you to wake up early and visit them before the entrance closed (Summer time). I really recommend Gran Pelayo Hotel.

To start the road up to the hotel is a bit gnarly if you follow a Sat nav but there is an alternative which is a bit easier. The secure underground parking is a massive bonus with direct access to the rooms. Check in was so easy with broken Spanish and Google translate with exceptionally friendly staff. The room on entrance was spotlessly clean with the air con running so it was already at a comfortable temperature. The room was well appointed with a fridge and hair dryer and plenty of storage. There was plenty of space around the pool with no need for the crack of dawn sun bed dash. The breakfast was a normal fair of cooked and pastries, nothing special but more than adequate however the evening meal was the same every night and quite expensive for what it was. This may be an issue if you don’t have transport away from the hotel. The position of the hotel is quite remote so it would be a mission to walk to an alternative restaurant. The views from the hotel are stunning from the outside lounge area and if you are lucky enough to have a balcony room. So the upshot of the review is great hotel, excellent friendly staff, beautiful location spotlessly clean. The only downside is the evening meal options but if you have transport this is a non issue as there are plenty of alternatives available. So, would we recommend this hotel, absolutely and can’t wait to visit again
