Aura Suites

Lovely place to stay, the staff are amazing and so friendly. It could do with a kitchen for snacks or a way of heating things in the room for breakfasts. The location, however, is fantastic and gives amazing views of the callderra. Overall, well worth the money.

We stayed in Santorini for three days on our honeymoon and HIGHLY recommend Aura Suites. The location in Firastefani was perfect as there were plenty of close restaurants, but it was tucked away from some of the busier areas of Santorini. It was just a short walk from Imervigoli and Fira. In addition to the location the room was amazing with a private Jacuzzi that overlooked the ocean! And the staff was so helpful helping to coordinate rides to and from the ports/airport.

Beware when booking the Honeymoon Suite with Sea View & Hot Tub. We had a 6 night stay at Aura Suites in Suite 6 and were extremely disappointed upon arrival to find the sea view was obstructed by a timber daybed from the neighbouring property below. Suite 6 is also directly beside the stairs, so noise & lack of privacy is also a factor. My partner requested a room change, even for part of our stay as he was planning to propose, however reception staff were rude & dismissive, telling us they wouldn’t move us and we needed to write to the office. We did as suggested, however, we were never even given the courtesy of a response. The room beside us was vacant for 2 consecutive nights, so could have been possible. Our trip now over, and still have not received an email or call to apologise or say our request could not be accommodated. Disappointed.

We had to book an emergency extra night in Santorini after a ferry cancellation, and we couldn't believe our luck when we arrived at Aura Suites. Check in was smooth, our room was stunning, with a spectacular view on the caldera and your own jacuzzi. As other reviewers pointed out the hot tub isn't too private as other guests have to walk along the terrace to enter their rooms, but this wasn't an issue for us at all - you can see countless jacuzzi walking down the streets of Firostefani, anyone looking for absolutely privacy in any of the caldera villages is a bit deluded in my opinion. The room was immaculate and we weren't disturbed by anyone cleaning the hot tub at all. The only thing to bear in mind is that the studios have a mini fridge and complimentary coffee, but no breakfast or cooking facilities. You can buy food from a cafe they partner with and have it delivered straight to your door (we did that for breakfast), or you can go to one of the many restaurants and cafes around. Firostefani is the best location on Santorini too - only 15-minute walk from Fira or Imerovigli, but much quieter and just as beautiful as the more crowded villages.

Worst checkin. I had already paid for the reservation four months ago, 997 euros for three days. When I arrived, they said I needed the physical credit card that I had paid for the reservation. It was so long ago that I didn't even have the card anymore. They said I had to pay with another card and wait for refund on the old card, which I don't have anymore. Plus, four months ago the euro was cheaper in relation to my current (BRL), so I have to pay again the exchange at a higher rate, lost almost 50 euros because I still don't know why, the reservation was already paid for!!
