The Gables Wine Country Inn

The Gables Wine Country INN is beautiful and inviting. Larry & Pam are hospitable host: professional, personable and accommodating with attention to detail. They both made us feel welcome, like we were staying with old friends. We felt at home. Facilities: Very quiet, inviting and comfortable The library and dining room show the history of the house with its Gothic Victorian circa 1887 Decorations of the period with beautiful high ceilings. The beds are dreamy, the dinning room table is set and ready for the king and queen. Food: Wow Our compliments to the chef’s! Such an incredible prepared breakfast each morning that included home made sourdough dough, bread, and apple bread. Absolutely fantastic team of Pam the baker and Larry the chef!! Breakfast is a true culinary experience! Larry & Pam go above and beyond with absolutely scrumptious breakfasts, that included homemade sourdough bread and apple bread. We are still drooling over Pam & Larry’s breakfast creations Dining room view: We watch the quail family meander through the lavender field while enjoy the culinary delights. Breakfast is hardy enough to get you through the day with all the hikes and winery tours in the nearby vineyards. They are experts on the area with knowledge and guidance is for best vineyards and restaurant in the area. 10 minutes from the charming Santa Rosa

This was our first visit to The Gqbles. Even before we arrived Pam and Allan reached out to us and made us feel welcome. We read about the excellent breakfast we will experience. It was accurate. The breakfasts were indeed delicious and unique for their innovative ingredients and combination of flavors and healthy approach. We informed our hosts that we were pescatarians and they accommodated our food requirements. Each breakfast started with coffee & juice. A starter of home made pastry with a variety of fruits. A choice of 5 different juices. The 8 bedroom house is tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Garden Room on the 2nd floor with a four poster canopy queen. In future stays I would opt for a ground floor room as lugging heavy baggage up the spiral staircase is an inconvenience. Our suite also contained a sleeper bed although we had not used the bed it was a convenience for our use during our stay. The room had central forced air heat that was quite handy as the temperature was dropping to the 40s at night. Getting hot water in the morning to longer than I expected. So we turned the hot water faucet on 8 minutes before use. It was never an issue. Our hosts, Pam and Allen were very accommodating and always suggested restaurants and wineries. As part of our stay we were given tasting passes to 25 wineries offering various tasting experiences in Sonoma & Russian River. The home was totally powered by solar and a Tesla power wall in case of blackouts, not unusual for the area, though we did not experience such Overall a great experience and we look forward to our next stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Gables. The hosts were great and very helpful. The breakfast were absolutely delicious and the place is beautiful. Would definitely consider staying there again the next time we are visiting the Petaluma area of California.

We keep coming back here. Beautiful, and beautifully restored, old Victorian home. Check out the book in the parlor that recounts its history. It’s perfectly situated to serve as a home base for a wine tasting trip. We also stayed here when we attended the Cotati Accordion Festival. Larry and Pam are the perfect hosts. When we asked for a dinner recommendation, they made reservations and gave us printed directions to the restaurant. During this last recent visit, they hosted a grape stomp (inspired by the “I Love Lucy” episode); ‘twas a blast! But the best part is breakfast. Larry is an over-the-top foodie. Our first breakfast started with a home baked, white chocolate/black cherry, still warm scone. That was followed by a baked, spiced pear (home grown by the way, like many other ingredients), topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, breakfast with a dessert, before the main course even! During our last breakfast, Pam apologized that we were getting the same thing twice. She brought out Larry’s two-egg soufflé, which confused us, because we hadn’t had that for breakfast . . . during that trip. Turns out, they track what they’ve served their guests during past visits, so they never have the same thing twice. Truth be told, we’d be happy with that every breakfast. We’ll be back yet again! PS - If you have an electric car, they have two charging stations.

Staying at a bed and breakfast was on my bucket list, so I was really looking forward to the experience staying at the Gables. I had a wonderful time with my husband as we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We were there with two other couples, newlyweds and a couple celebrating their 49th anniversary. The home was immaculate, so well designed with gorgeous period pieces and detail. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept on - we stayed in the Brookside suite on the second floor with a lovely view of the creek. The hosts were congenial and we were treated so well. Everything was spotless at the home - not a speck of dust or dirt. It was a tremendous blend of modern amenities such as good lighting and USB ports for our phones, and a vintage Victorian sink with handpainted motif and beautiful clawfoot tub. I would highly recommend staying there. The breakfast was delicious and well thought out as well. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

This place is beautiful and the rooms are elegant. Pam and Larry are the consummate hosts, so friendly and full of good local recommendations. The breakfasts were the best we have ever had at a b and b. Larry presented us with gourmet entrees preceded by Pam’s superior baked breakfast treats. We would highly recommend a stay here for a beautiful romantic weekend.
