Decameron Galeon - All Inclusive

Rooms not ready until 4:30pm ,breakfast the lack of any bacon and meat was disturbing, just a little baloney , seating was a nightmare not enough seating it was always dreadful for the 4 days ,group of 12 but 2 in the group weren’t booked thru the hotel so were bothered relentlessly when on the beach after 12 noon, they were harassed by security guards and told to only be in the reception area when the rest of us were on the beach ,last day 6 of our got got food poisoning think it was from the pizza on the beach,common bathrooms were lacking in size and they need to triple the stalls and capacity, having a change room would be nice , staff was ok no complaints there

Decameron hotel in Santa Marta (to the outskirts) was an incredible place that I can go many times and repeat the experience. I went 2 times every two years. I like because you have many activities to do, if you go to the pool you find people doing activities, if you go to the beach, because the hotel have a private beach yo can see people dance, playing volleyball, if you can do activities in the sea the people give to you many tools to do, and the best is that you pay before. And all the food, the sweets, the drink and burger stall is unlimited. Also in the night you can go to the beach with your family and see different shows every night. I think that this hotel have activities for all kind of edges, for those and more reasons I considered it is complete hotel.

Average place. It has very old facilities. They gave me a room in the main tower and it was very small and dirty, however the view of the beach was great. If you want a comfortable room, you should ask for the villas. They look a little bit more modern. Drinks and food menu is pretty much the same everyday. They definitely need some variation.

The overall installations are quite good , as far as location and natural habitat. Clean rooms, great beach area, okay beach area, okay beach chairs, all in all Three Star Resort. Breakfast menu ok, except for coffee could be better. Where it fails is the All inclusive.Their system for dinner dining has to be reserved ( needs improvement). They offer five dinner choices. You MUST reserve the day before and upon arrival even though its suppose to be reserved for just the one time slot. They ask for a second slot and choice. WHY ??? To force on you their short sighted planning and conven themselves. I asked at 0815 in the morning for next day fish restaurant, NONE available. I had to settle for the third day opening. The second day I had to settle for Italian . And come the third day, they conveniently rescheduled me for earlier time slot. At another restaurant I DID NOT Like. Poor administration, NOT favorable to the client. Just to their liking. Their poorest and worst restaurant's Asian and Grilled meats ( Asados). Both of these have a limited menu selection and muggy outdoor dining. Their best, the Fish restaurant. The other two out of five are OK. Their all inclusive SNACKS are always the same Hot dogs and burgers, both I find poor and always the same. Their all inclusive bar and drinks, POOR. Nothing is top shelf. Always low end, none brand, beer barely cold and cheap (Budweiser) Cocktails poor. Nightly entertainment nothing to rave about. Local Colombian culture songs and dance. Their daily Lunchtime buffet at the Wayuu restaurant is decent. I understand this is a Colombian resort, and cater to their locals. Yet, the chain is International and exists in Mexico, Central and South America. So if you want to get better reviews, afford better service, Not just OK service. Mexican all inclusives, beat the pants off of this resort. If you like OK service. This is the place.

Don’t expect luxury. The room we had was two stories. The first floor had a “living room” with one chair, one table and a twin bed. The balcony and views were great. The second floor had a dark and old looking bathroom. No hot water in the shower. The bedroom was fine, nothing to write home about and it was the only place in the room with AC. The resort only had one type of beer. The cocktails are tiny and basically just juice, no alcohol. They only offer wine at dinner. The employees were super nice and attentive. If you’re looking for 5 stars, this is not the place. The food is fine.

I visited this hotel with my husband in May. It was our first time on this site. We liked the experience. There are 4 restaurants with different menus, it's for all tastes, and all the waiters were very friendly. Bed room was very clean, the beach too, we enjoyed this. In this site, Every day we could enjoy the shows while having a delicious drink. There were shows to have fun. The bartenders were very attentive, especially the one at the pool bar, who served us while we worked. We could rest and the same time we could work with all the comforts and a beautiful view.
