Struttura molto bella, curata e in sintonia con la deliziosa cittadina di Sintra. Una casa d'epoca ristrutturata in albergo. Deliziosa la reception e l'area comune. La nostra camera era nella media; forse ci saremmo aspettati qualcosa di più, visto la bellezza dell'accesso, ma comunque comoda, funzionale e pulita. Magari l'albergo dispone di altre camere più lussuose ma il prezzo comunque da noi pagato era consono. Le camere si raggiungono scendendo di vari piani. L'accesso all'hotel è a piano strada ma la costruzione si sviluppa su più piani a scendere. Per persone con difficoltà motorie può essere complicato. La struttura non dispone di sala per la colazione ma a poche centinaia di metri è convenzionata con un bar avente il medesimo nome dove ci è stata fornita la colazione (inclusa), di ottimo livello. Nelle vicinanze ci sono diversi parcheggi pubblici. A Sintra non è facile trovarne ma, quando verso sera la città si svuota dal turismo pendolare, si trovano con facilità. Questo albergo dispone di un salotto dove per gli ospiti è presente un frigorifero con un'ampia scelta di bevande e snack. Tutto si basa sulla fiducia degli ospiti che possono accedere scrivendo su una foglio cosa hanno consumato. Questa fiducia dimostra un grande senso civico che spero venga rispettato anche dagli avventori dell'albergo. La proprietà se lo merita. Vino Porto lasciato a disposizione degli ospiti in omaggio. Altro segnale di civiltà e gentilezza.

Beautiful property! Was a treat to stay here. We were in a separate building from the palace but just adjacent and easily accessible to the main building for breakfast and use of swimming pool. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Maria during our stay. She gave us a tour of the property, helped us with dining plans etc. We didn’t make it to the Fado show but the magician was a big hit with my family. The room was large and very comfortable. A curtain needed to be pulled while showering as it was all in the same space, but that didn’t bother us. The location was great as you could walk into town and several times we walked back from the palaces back to the hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Holstein. The hotel is set in large, expansive grounds, with little hidden paths one can explore. There's even a beautiful peacock who wanders around. The hotel is contained in an old estate and has a bygone sense of charm. Our room was very large and comfortable. The bathrooms (we had two) were very spacious and well appointed. The shower was excellent. The host was very pleasant and available to help and answer questions. They served breakfast at the hotel. Highly recommend!

Sintra Marmoris Camelia Hotel is a lovely small boutique hotel located in old Sintra within walking distance to the sights. The rooms are unique, large, well-appointed with stunning décor, large bathrooms, with stunning views of the castle and greenbelt. The location is perfect! The concierge will help plan a nice day of sightseeing, transportation or dinning in the area. They are extremely helpful always greeting you with a smile and willingness to help. Breakfast was yummy and is made to order in a lovey setting either inside or outside on the patio. In the afternoon, their sister property offers wine tasting for the guests at both properties. Si tratta di un piccolo grazioso albergo, in buona posizione in una cittadina deliziosa, ricchissima di monumenti e paesaggisticamente suggestiva, ad appena mezz'ora d'auto da Lisbona. Sintra va vista assolutamente, è un concentrato di storia e arte portoghese senza eguali. E quest'albergo, centralissimo, è un ottimo punto d'appoggio. Lo staff, giovane e preparato, è molto efficiente e cordiale e potrà aiutarvi molto nella visita di Sintra. Le camere e soprattutto i bagni sono di dimensioni alquanto ridotte,, ma ben arredate e comunque accoglienti. Buona anche se non memorabile la prima colazione. Un solo difetto importante: l'hotel non ha un proprio parcheggio, e parcheggiare a Sintra è un'impresa proibitiva, così come girarla in auto. Specialmente se venite da Lisbona, conviene usare i mezzi pubblici. Se proprio non potete rinunciare all'auto, parcheggiatela appena potete (di sicuro a pagamento, e i parcheggi costano) e dimenticatevene fino alla partenza. Sintra è piena di taxi e carrozzelle di ogni tipo che vi porteranno dovunque e ci sono navette in continua circolazione tra i principali monumenti (a piedi sarebbe un po' lunga). Negli immediati dintorni dell'hotel ci sono diversi ottimi ristoranti, abbastanza autentici nonostante il turismo. Fatevi consigliare in hotel.

Memorable stay. Hotel is well and tastefully renovated. Parking available is a big plus. Hotel is high in the hill and near to the moorish castle. A memorable stay. Lots of birds and very very nice. The service is fantastic and very friendly host.

Myself and my 4 year old son stayed here for a weekend, and it was fantastic! We received excellent communication from the front desk via email as we arrived after check in, which meant we could get straight up to our room upon arrival. It's in a great location, and has modern, clean, fresh décor and super friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, bathroom spacious and A/C. There was plenty of extra bedding in the cupboards too which meant you could change the sheet for a duvet if the weather suddenly changed. The breakfast was a good price, and great continental selection; my son ate everything in sight, and they even went above and beyond to make him pancakes as a treat! There was an honesty bar available throughout the day too for any quick snacks or drinks which was reasonably priced. There's a local grocery shop, pharmacy, café and restaurants all 5mins walk away too which is so useful when travelling with children. Sintra itself was beautiful, my son loved the views, visiting Quinta da Regaleira and spotting the 'castles!' on top of the hills. Do be aware Sintra has a micro climate so the weather can be breezy and cooler than expected! First, Sintra, Portugal isn't a great place to be if you don't like hill climbing to an extreme - unless you're going to bring a chauffeur along or use an electric bike or scooter. That said, Villas de Cintra is at the bottom of a STEEP hill with a road not open to public travel because it is barely wide enough for 1 vehicle. EVERY time you want to leave the property there is a steep hill to deal with. If you don't mind the hill, you will probably really like this place - and anywhere you stay in Sintra is on a hill or right by one. If not for the hill, I would have given a rating of 5 - and really 4.5 would be more accurate than 4. AND THE GOOD PART is that the staff are charming, helpful and would seem to go out of the way for anything you want within reason. Anyone should enjoy the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere here. One caveat: the office is open only 9 AM - 6 PM. Everything is squeaky clean - I like tile floors for that. It is attractively decorated and just gives off a good vibe. Up to date equipment all the way around is also a benefit. The kitchen is very compact, but has everything needed: microwave, stovetop, fridge, sink, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, towels. The little refrigerator/freezer unit isn't big, but is sufficient and cold and the separate top freezer is perfect. The heat & A/C unit is the best I've seen anywhere. Keeps the temperature right on the money and is easy to learn the control - not so different than many others, except this one works. Always plenty of HOT water and great water pressure. The patio and ”back yard” area is nicely lit after dark (until very late but not all night) without being overly bright. WiFi is good! There is a problem with no decent place to sit and work on your computer. The little desk doesn't have a nearby electrical outlet. The bar is quite nice, but the folding, metal barstools are AWFUL. The seat is too small by far - I'm not a big person (5'8 - 160#), but the sides of my legs hang over the defined edges of the seats and make sitting for any time painful. It is also necessary to use good shoes when sitting because the tiny bars as ”foot rests” are thin tubing that will just cripple sock or bare feet. It seems strange that after doing everything else so well they would get barstools like these... I did find a cushion that made the seat bearable. Overall, definitely recommended.
