DO NOT book this hotel !!!! Let me tell you why.. I have stayed there before and the hotel is beautiful and well located, but that’s about it. It’s extremely expensive for what you’re going to get. A few months ago I stayed there, paid a fortune only to discover the room was as FILTHY as they come. When we entered the room it didn’t feel clean, there were bottles of cleaning products in the bathroom and they didn’t even change the sheets! I rarely check for the bed but I could tell there was something wrong, so I removed the cover and discovered TONS of black hair all over. DISGUSTING. We also discovered shattered glass in the floor around the coffee table. I complained and they gave us another room, so I decided to give them another chance. I booked again in May through *********** but had to cancel before the trip (with no penalty). Well, the hotel DID CHARGE my card, and when I called them, they said it was a mistake due to the their system and that they were going to process a refund.. BUT it has been 1 MONTH and still NO REFUND! Every time I contact them they will say “they are processing it “. In the meantime, I had to pay more then $8,000 to the credit card issuer and place a claim with them to see if they can make the hotel refund the amount. SO, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BOOK HERE!! If you’re going to Monterrey stay at the Westin, Safi , Aqua or Camino Real. Not as expensive, well located and with so much better customer service.

Very much enjoyed our two night stay at the JWM Monterrey. Well located near restaurants and shops but unfortunately vehicles were prioritized over pedestrians at these establishments. Be careful when walking. That said the property is the nicest JW I’ve ever visited. The upgrade to the junior suite with a certificate was a wise move. The room featured 1.5 bathrooms and a very large footprint. Even though it was an odd numbered room on the second floor, we had no issues with outside noise. The enormous breakfast buffet is included for Bonvoy Platinum Elite and higher guests. It’s not to be missed. We also had the pool and fitness center to ourselves on a Monday afternoon. Only drawback was the executive lounge. It’s a beautiful and large space. The evening service fell far short of expectations set by JW properties in CDMX and Guadalajara. Food was presented at 6:30 PM but was not refreshed throughout the evening. No bartender was present and the lone staff member did not offer any cocktails or wine. The self service wine dispenser was empty. Around 7 PM the staff member disappeared. Gave up on the lounge after that.

The hotel is nice and in a very good location, rooms are clean and with good amenities. The problem I found was, my rate included breakfast and when I came down on 05/14 at 0730 the "hostess" could not sit me on a table because it was only myself, I should point out that the restaurant was probably 30 to 40% occupied, I asked for a manger and was told there is no manager at that time in the morning, Jesus from the front desk was very polite and went to inquire, long story short. I walked outside for breakfast at a restaurant nearby. Moral of the story is you have better choices in Monterrey.

By far the best breakfast buffet in town. It doesn’t matter if you’re staying at the hotel or not, this is a can’t miss experience. Fresh fruit, amazing barbacoa and/or chicharron tacos, perfect eggs benedict, chilaquiles, and the best sweet bread you’ll find. The great food is only matched by the five star service (thank so much Francisco) and a great decor.

First off let me give KUDOS to Gregorio at the front desk. Polite, helpful and courteous. Although no other employees stood out, everyone was helpful and courteous. This would have been an EASY five star review for what is obviously a beautiful 5 STAR hotel, but there were small details that unfortunately are being overlooked. “Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail." There were no wash clothes in the bathroom and the bath towels and hand towels were worn and not of the same style or brand. The bath mat in the bathroom needed to be changed or at the very least trimmed from where the edges were falling apart. One of the biggest issues was the poor quality of toilet paper that was being used. Although the brand was Cottonelle by Professional, it was one-ply and was the texture of sandpaper. Not fun after 3 days. LOL Room 617 had beautiful views of the city, but was located close to the elevator and we could hear the random dings of the elevator.

I’ve stayed at a few different JW Marriott properties and out of all of them, this was by far the most disappointing. I’ll credit the property by saying that many of the staff were very good, and although I didn’t eat at the restaurant because of dietary restrictions, my colleagues who did said it was very good. Also, the decor is very nice as one would expect from a property at this level. That being said, there are many areas where this property misses the mark. Fitness center - it’s abysmal. Adequate cardio equipment, paltry free weights and sparse on the weight machines (3 standard single exercise, one multi-purpose). I’ve stayed at Courtyards that have better fitness centers than this one - it’s inexcusable for a property in this class, IMO. No one with any sort of regular weight-training routine will be able to maintain their regimen in this facility. Housekeeping - I never heard a single vacuum cleaner during my entire stay and my rooms were certainly never vacuumed in the 2 weeks that I stayed here. Also, very inconsistent in replacing amenities like laundry bags, breakfast cards and in-room coffee. Location/ Street noise - This one is a bit difficult to fault the property for, but there is a nightclub down the street and from Weds - Sat, the noise level for rooms at the front of the hotel is astounding. I felt the bass line through my pillow into the small hours of the morning. I requested to change rooms the next day and thankfully they were able to accommodate, but be forewarned that street side rooms (odd-numbered) are all going to be subject to this. I had colleagues who were cautioned about this and when they checked in, requested an even-numbered room and reception told them that the nightclub had closed down. This is flat-out not true. Responsiveness - I made two request through the Bonvoy app (one to change rooms and one for the laundry bag and order form to be replaced) and both were met with “one moment and we’ll get right back to you” only to wait hours for a reply, even after follow-up inquiries. I’ve traveled extensively through LATAM and I understand that customer service with a sense of urgency is rare here, but even with my low expectations I was frustrated by how long it took for a simple request. I don’t consider myself high maintenance (although I’m sure no one does) and I don’t often stay at properties this high end, but these are things I would find unacceptable for a standard Marriott, Sheraton or even an Aloft - and you’re certainly paying JW prices to stay here. The decor and most of the staff live up to the JW brand standard. The rest of it, not so much. When I return to Monterrey, I’ll be opting for the Westin. It may be no better, but at least I won’t be paying super-premium prices to be let down.

Just spent one night in a business trip. Of course, it is a nice, luxury hotel. Very clean and with more or less good service. Everything in this hotel is very expensive, and I am not sure if it worth it. It has an enough gym and a comfortable pool. You will find many better places to eat arround.
