Don Rafa Boutique Hotel & Residences

Its a very clean hotel with many places to eat within walking distance as well as a movie theater, grocery store, and pharmacy down the street. It has a nice restaurant and rooftop pool that is very relaxing. The room was clean and had an ice maker, large sink and refrigerator. The only things I would improve are the lighting in the rooms - its somewhat dim if you need to do some work - they only have lamps and one small accent light in the ceiling - at least in the room I was in. The bathroom sink in my room was very small- couldn't hold toothbrush, razor, etc on it like most sinks. Those are small inconveniences - overall it's a very nice place to stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the location was great.

The hotel scent was amazing. I was told by the hotel staff the scent was inspired by the owner’s favorite things and created specifically for the hotel. The scent was on the vents so you smelled it even before you step into the hotel. We wish the scent was available for purchase. This is an exceptional property. It is meticulously clean and kept up. The staff is 10/10. The roof top soaking pool has a fabulous view of the ocean. Grocery store and pharmacy just around the corner! Super convenient. The Hotel is just like the pictures on the website but better in person. I would recommend the hotel and would book here again.

I’ll recommend this place to anyone. The ambience of the place was special, tentative staff, great rooms. I didn’t get to try out all of their extra stuff cause I had other plans but they have it all. A pool, a bar, a gym. Felt like a resort almost. And the best part is they are worth the price. I hope I made some one make an easy decision on their stay.

The staff was so attentive and welcoming upon arrival. We were only there for one night but location was central and convenient for walking around. Would stay again to fully utilize the property amenities.

We loved every second of our time here. The staff were so helpful and responsive and the hotel itself was not only beautiful but also super clean. The property is quiet and peaceful, while still being in a perfect location close to all the best spots. Would highly recommend staying here!

Room was super small , the restaurant is closed until Wednesday so forget a weekend trip trying to eat there. The neighborhood is sketch af but the Los pinos resturant across the street is 24/7 and inexpensive so def loved that. Not worth the price paid ….

Staff is great: helpful, professional and full of positive energy. The hotel's design, in both common areas and rooms is well done. However some basic elements are dysfunctional: the lobby level rooms suffer from noise in the lobby and should be better sound insulated. Trash cans look cool but are tiny. A red ice maker looks cool but without filtered water to make ice is not practical...for that matter, why make ice at all? Having an ice machine on each floor is boringly conventional but amazingly practical. Tiny night tables are pleasing to the eye but extremely impractical to place common items. The Tiny sink would work great in a doll house but not in a hotel room. Water pressure was adequate but on the low side. Outlets near the bed are limited or none existent. No breakfast offered. All of these small impracticalities are not commensurate with all in room rates that averaged aprox 700 per night for us. In sum, we loved the staff and design but suffered from the lack of basics that are usually taken for granted.

Fabulous small, immaculate hotel in a very residential part Miramar. A food options within walking distance. Walk to beaches and a quick taxi into Old San Juan. Can't say enough about the hotel and staff who went above and beyond. It felt like we were in our own private hotel. Gorgeous roof dipping pool and view of the marina and ocean. We did not eat at the hotel roof restaurant but head it was outstanding as well. If you are looking for a LUXE part of town this is NOT it but if you want to be in a fabulous hotel, in a safe walkable local (non tourist) neighborhood this is the place! Would definitely choose this over Cordado or Old San Juan for chill factor. And did I mention the hotel is FABULOUS! Final great nuance... They have rooms for families that want to stay in one space without breaking the bank. Not just rent individual hotel rooms. These rooms have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms with kitchenettes. And two grocery stores are right next door. One with very high end/speciality food and a great coffee bar.

The fragrance upon entry IS so refreshing. The decor and artwork is stunning and beautifully designed. From the first step inside the facility whether you decide to take the stairs or elevator, you will be greeted with the most phenomenal staff to amazing and unique art. The patio area was so cute. The rooftop bar view and the bread pudding was so divine that I ordered a second one… The maintenance was quick to address any issues. The cleaning can be more thorough in the unit bathroom. The corners have a buildup and could use some bleach on a regular basis. There is visible hair left behind in and on the shower walls and glass. Otherwise, the bedrooms were well maintained and beautifully decorated. Thank you for a wonderful stay. ~Nanita
