Our experience at this hotel was extremely A+++, Anthony and Angie both Front Desk specialist were so profesional and made our stay comfortable. They went out of their way to ensure our tours were well arranged and our breakfast in the hotel was jsut excellent. The happy hour was great as well. The hotel is extremely clean. All of the staff were courteous and ensured we knew where we were going. It was hard to come home becasue it felt like we were home away from home. The Manager too came by and ensured we were having a great stay.

Stayed here on a tour of Costa Rica, for a total of three nights on arrival and between our extension. Typical city hotel, very comfy and large rooms with big bathrooms, plenty of toiletries etc. Lovely staff, although not very attentive in the main restaurant! We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant - all good. Also a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. It was quite cool, they keep the aircon on quite high and the weather was windy and cloudy so turned it off in our room! Nothing much nearby, very convenient for airport but only a supermarket and McDonalds within walking distance. The park was ok for a quick walk, only a few yards away.

Il personale è così attento e gentile e amichevole. Non ho una cosa cattiva da dire su di loro. La ragazza era al massimo. Ha lasciato la nostra stanza senza spot con asciugamani, sapone, lozione e acqua in ogni giorno che eravamo li'. Il servizio presso il reception, ristorante, bar, valet, campanile, ecc. era così professionale e ci ha accolto con un sorriso, indipendentemente dal tempo o dalla richiesta. Abbiamo fatto colazione tardi la nostra prima mattina (pensavamo che fosse finita alle 11 ma era dieci) e ci hanno accolti, lasciarono tutto il cibo per noi per riparare le piastre, ci hanno portato una grande piastra di frutta deliziosa e ci hanno lasciato sedere finché non siamo pronti a partire. Sheila era un piacere assoluto e ci ha accolti ogni mattina con un sorriso grande e una parola gentile. Rimanerei assolutamente qui e consiglierei questo hotel a chiunque si trovi nella zona di San Jose. Oh... la vista sul lato montagnoso è spettacolare!

Hotel carino in centro a San José, camera ampia e pulita, terrazzo che puzzava molto di fumo. L’hotel da un lato affaccia su una via pedonale dove sconsiglio di andare dopo che tramonta il sole perché un po’ pericolosa; noi per due sere di fila abbiamo provato a mettere fuori un piede e subito siamo avvicinati da gente poco raccomandabile. Molto comodo il ristorante all’interno dell’hotel.

C'è un bagno in camera, ma la stanza di tipo spogliato non è stimata per nessuno.L'acqua è troppo piccola quando si lava.

La ragione per la classificazione inferiore è per la doccia. Era un trucco d'acqua. Una cosa che tutti viaggiano nella scelta dell'hotel è una doccia potente e calda. Il bacino aveva abbastanza forza, quindi mi aspetto che anche la doccia potesse avere. Il servizio per la colazione è stato molto bello, perché si può scegliere e si rende fresco. Il bar/restaurante è confortevole con TV di buona dimensione per assistere eventi sportivi (grazie per averci lasciato in ritardo per finire il Super Bowl.) Gli uomini hanno dichiarato che la pizza era buona. Il personale ha aiutato a organizzare una navetta all'aeroporto, allo stesso tasso di costo tutti.

Like every Selina Hostel there is love in every detail - decoration, lights, good furniture. We had the deluxe room with a lot of space, a table, a sofa, own bathroom and good comfort. The bed was very cosy. We had no warm water for 2 days in our room, but the staff reacted instantly, tried to fix it and we got a free breakfast and some money back. Clean kitchen, enogh fridge space and a cool sofa space in the living kitchen. In total we had a nice and relaxing stay amd would definitly recommand this hostel.

Dear Valued Guests, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share my recent experience at Hotel Cultura Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica, and to caution those considering a reservation at this establishment. During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a significant issue with the room I was assigned. Unfortunately, some of the rooms at this hotel do not have windows and resemble prison cells rather than comfortable accommodations. Understandably, I refused to accept such a room and immediately contacted Booking.com to seek a resolution. To my disappointment, the hotel displayed a lack of cooperation, even after three hours of mediation with Booking.com. Despite our best efforts, the hotel refused to address the issue adequately, leading to the cancellation of my reservation. Furthermore, the hotel has also declined to refund the payment I made for the booking. Throughout this process, their responses were consistently rude and unhelpful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. In addition to the room issue, I feel it is important to mention that the dining room for breakfast at Hotel Cultura Plaza is extremely small, akin to a small bar with only about four tables. This limited space may make it challenging to find a seat during busy periods, and it can detract from the overall dining experience. Given my disappointing experience and the hotel's uncooperative attitude, I want to urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering a reservation at Hotel Cultura Plaza. Please be aware of the lack of windows in some rooms, the prison cell-like appearance, and the limited dining space for breakfast. It is my hope that by sharing this message, I can help others make informed decisions and avoid potential frustrations. As consumers, we should be able to expect a certain level of quality and service when choosing accommodations, and unfortunately, Hotel Cultura Plaza fell short of these expectations. On ne s'attendait pas au meilleur hôtel de notre voyage, et ce fut le cas. Vu le prix, il ne faut pas s'attendre à plus. Les chambres sont spartiates, sans clim voir sans fenêtre (court séjour seulement vraiment!). El Descanso est plutôt bien situé, près de la plupart des intérêts touristiques de San José. La literie est plutôt agréable. L'accueil est efficace et agréable.

Great location in the heart of San Jose, within walking distance from all the city’s attractions. As a Hilton member, we were recognised with a great upgrade to a nice and modern room. The daily breakfast was sumptuous with local and western options. The evening happy hour was incredible and the best selection of drinks we’ve ever been to. Would also like to thank several staff who helped us during our stay - Anthony the bellhop, and Carlos + Marcela, severs at the hotel’s restaurant. One suggestion is for the reception counter staff to be more friendly and approachable. The perception we got was they were cold and rushed.
