Hotel in zona Antiek, Ryde

This hotel is nothing like it makes out to be on its website, the whole place needs gutting and refitting, every single fitting in the hotel room had something wrong with it, broken, dirty, ripped, stained. Bed had brown stains up the side, the pull out mattress bed for kids had what looks like a blood stain. The walls had dirty handprints and smudges all over. Curtain was ripped, windows were single glazed, covered in cobwebs and grime and all the paintwork chipping off, the bathroom had a huge damp stain on the lino, the bath itself had water damage to the outside edges and the skirting board was falling off due to water damage. Half the lamps didn't turn on and they all had cobwebs over them. The inside of the bath had holes in showing rust, the toilet flush button was not attached and had to be balanced in place each time you needed to flush. The sink was just fitted onto a worktop that didn't have anything underneath it so it was just open pipes. The kettle didn't boil and we had to get a new one, the new one was so crusted up with limescale and dust it was gross, then to rub salt in the wounds the tea bags changed from Pg tips the first day, to cheap own branded ones thereafter. There was a huge fist fight outside the hotel in the night which could be heard through the windows, not nice when your 8 year old child can hear people getting punched, there was blood up the door the next day. Then the next night day there was the sound of barrels being thrown onto a van in the late hours of the night. We booked a table for the restaurant one of the evenings, we had booked this table before arriving at the hotel and it was accepted, we waited until it was time for our booking (later than we normally eat due to wanting a drink in the bar first) only to be told that they aren't opening the restaurant that day so we had to go down the road and spend a heck of a lot of money in a random restaurant that we had never planned to go to in the first place. Two days later we asked about the restaurant and again it was closed so we got some chips and sat by the sea instead. The price of this hotel is an absolute joke considering the quality you get, do yourself a favour and do not throw your money away like we did, it really puts a downer on your holiday.

The owner is very nice and the food is delicious, the hot water is very comfortable, in a location close to the beach!

This hotel is actually good, I was wary after checking the recent reviews but I found myself pleasantly surprised. The hotel is recently refurbished and it shows, my room was unsullied by previous guests disruptive behaviours or the accidental throw up stains you associate with Travelodges. The only complaint I have which unfortunately drags the score down is the parking situation. Had I known this before I arrived then I would possibly reconsidered this hotel for one with a payable or free car park! Ll

Thank you to everyone at The Royal Esplanade Hotel for a lovely event. We had my Dad’s 80th birthday party there yesterday & it’s was perfect. We had the large room, alongside the bar, plenty of space & great layout. The food was good & loads of it. But what really made it was the people working, who made everything run smoothly, thought of the little things, even providing some decorations, sorting out a speaker for music & cake stand etc and most importantly were super friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Dad had a great time, so thank you. I would definitely recommend it for a party venue.

Il personale di sera dove non c'era nulla da vedere la sera, che avevano un segno alla ricezione che dicevano che erano al bar e un segno al bar che dicevano che erano al ricevimento. La sera dopo siamo andati a bere al bar, mentre le finali di rugby erano in corso. Molte persone cercavano di bere, ma il personale del bar/ricevimento non era ancora intorno. Finito di lasciare aspettare senza essere servito e tornare in camera nostra. Molto deluso dal servizio. La stanza e la posizione avevano tutto quello che avete bisogno, ma non abbiamo avuto lamentele in proposito.

Il personale della sala Luccombe era brillante, dalla prenotazione all'esame. Erano amichevoli e utili, felici di condividere informazioni su ciò che doveva fare sull'isola, e hanno preso il disturbo di organizzare il nostro traghetto - anche di arrivare a un passaggio successivo quando abbiamo deciso di rimanere un po' più. L'hotel stesso era in un ambiente così bello, la vista è incredibile e il sole splendeva in tutta la nostra stanza, quindi abbiamo fatto uso dei giardini per bere il caffè al mattino e la piscina all'aperto al pomeriggio. La nostra stanza includeva l'accesso alla vicina China Shanklin, che ha dato una bella e facile (a prescindere dai passi) percorso verso la spiaggia. La stanza era pulita, i letti erano confortevoli e la decorazione era buona. La TV ha avuto opzioni per collegare le piattaforme di streaming, che era utile. Potrebbe essere stato bello avere un frigo e una sicurezza nella stanza. Colazione è stata grande, con una selezione di cereali, pasticceria e frutta, così come colazione cucinata. Il Benedetto delle uova era particolarmente delizioso. Il pranzo era buono, anche se si sentiva un po' prezioso per quello che era. La serata era da una macchina e purtroppo non era molto. In tutto, ci piaceva davvero il nostro soggiorno e ci consigliereremmo molto.

Posizione fantastica, grande posizione. Maria, alla ricezione era una ”star” - che un benvenuto. Amichevole e professionale. Tratta due tazze di crema di ghiaccio, aggiunge bonus. Una stanza fuori dalla zona di cena, prima a destra, nessuna miglia a piedi, eccellente. Puli e confortevoli, come il bagno, bella e pulita. Colazione normale, seriamente maniaco. Molto occupato, buffet, solo cibo caldo, molte scelte, marroni di hash meraviglioso. Nessun prigioniero preso, ancora piacevole. Tavoli puliti tra ospiti, ben fatto. Solo al lato inferiore di 'Lui' è diventato un disabile registrato, non è disponibile alcun parcheggio nella piccola zona parcheggio situata sul sito che era annoiante. È stato un problema per lui di andare e di uscire dall'hotel. Non ha rovinato il nostro soggiorno, l'ha amato, spero rimarrà.

I really like this hotel. Staff seem keen to help. Only drawback was having to pay to park (£5 for 24 hours or part thereof) more having to do it online, when you're a IT dinosaur like me, but it was pretty straightforward once I got into it.
