Our stay at Arcadia Lodge was the perfect end to our New Zealand holiday. Greg and Peter were outstanding hosts and very welcoming, providing recommendations for places to eat and things to do. All were fantastic as were the breakfasts provided. The Lodge was historic, quirky and just gorgeous.

What great attention to connecting w guests . My wife and I really noticed genuine interest in us. The breakfast was just amazing with an incredible view over the harbor …we loved our brief conversations with other guests . Peter and Greg always on front of the curve on the coffee front as well ! Greg gave us tips on Russell which we enjoyed immensely as well as needed history of the lodge which made our stay in context . Just a not to miss accommodation and great people making our stay a great way to cap off our New Zealand trip.

Arcadia Lodge is a stunning property with amazing views and hosted by Greg and Peter who welcomed us into their beautiful home. The house and location are fantastic. The view is stunning. Nothing was too much trouble for Peter and Greg who provided us with useful information on where to visit. Breakfast was on the terrace and was without a doubt the best we have had on this trip. Fabulous homemade and beautifully prepared. Accommodation warm and cosy and in keeping with the property. We would recommend it if you are in this part of NZ.

Arcadia Lodge is a stunning property with amazing views and hosted by 2 guys, Greg and Peter, who just want you to have a fabulous time and will arrange any activity you want to do in the area. Peters breakfasts are to die for and we found lunch wasn’t needed! We stayed 5 nights and found plenty to do in the area. Arcadia Lodge was a great place to relax in the evening if we’d dined out. The house itself has an interesting history and full of character. It is beautifully appointed as was our room. A sundowner on the terrace ( or personal balcony) overlooking the lovely bay is the icing on the cake. We would definitely recommend it if you are in this part of NZ.

This place is something else! Honestly... And you are very lucky if you get to stay here! First of all, the building ist beautiful with amazing views over the bay and the furnishings are very stylish and carefully chosen. You can tell that people with a feel for the old house were at work here. I traveled alone and had the Ranginui room and I loved it. The bed was super comfy and everything was absolute impeccable. Peter and Greg are the best hosts you could wish for. Apart from being incredibly nice and kind, they make you feel at home in an instant. They know a lot about the place and its history and give you great tips for things to do in Russell and around. The breakfast was excellent and very lovingly prepared. Everything is homemade and fresh, and so good! All in all, you can say that this lodge is exceptional, and I will definitely come back on my next visit to NZ. Thank you Peter and Greg for this wonderful experience of staying at your Arcadia Lodge!

We visited Russell for the first time, and we stayed at Arcadia Lodge. What a Jewel in the crown. Greg and Peter welcomed us into their beautiful home as if we were family. The house and location are fantastic. The view is stunning. Nothing is too much trouble, and Peter and Greg booked us into excellent restaurants and provided us with useful information on where to visit. Breakfast was on the terrace and was without a doubt the best we have had on this trip. Fabulous homemade and beautifully prepared fruits and cereal. In addition Peter prepared amazing scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and capers on sour dough bread and fritters. Toast and banana cake. I will be trying some of his recipes when I get home. I am coeliac and Peter provided me with similar to everyone else without wheat, and it was obvious the effort he went to to do this and ensure everything was wheat free. Absolutely outstanding.

Lovely historic lodge overlooking sparkling Matahuwi Bay. Elegant yet comfortable. Detail perfect. Spotless. Delicious, unique breakfasts served on the terrace each morning. Hosts went above and beyond expectations to sort out some travel issues and make our stay perfect. Thank you again, Peter and Greg.
