Cheap and cheerful. Convenient to get to the visitor centre, Polynesian spa and te pu ta.

Good affordable short stay when exploring Rotorua, toilets were clean and kitchen was well equipped. Slightly less privacy since neighbouring rooms could look into the room too.

This is the accommodation that I’ll recommend to those who are looking for a nice place to stay when visiting Rotorua. The kitchen is well-equipped & spacious. The rooms are clean & flawless.

I never thought a room would be designed right next to the kitchen/common area. Even though there is a reminder about quiet hours from 22:00–07:00, who really follows that? If you don’t mind sleeping with earplugs, then this room might be fine for you. We booked a twin room. The space was large enough, but the location was very inconvenient. It was at the far end of the property, requiring me to go downstairs and then upstairs again. What frustrated me was that when I arrived (around 21:30 for late check-in), I saw at least three identical rooms available near the entrance, but I was still assigned the farthest one. Cleanliness was also very poor. I found toilet paper in my toilet upon arrival, and the chair in the room was covered with dust. All in all, I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Haka house is the perfect place to stay in New Zealand, multiple locations all across the country, all clean and comfortable, they’re perfect!

Everything is satisfactory. The building is clearly quite old. Can sometimes smell a bit of sewer gas, easy to fix by flushing detergent a few times. Walls are thin and floorboards are percussive.

Location was in a place accessible to the city centre however the room had a weird smell and the toilet blinds did not work. The worst part was the smell from it. The walls are paper thin and we could hear our neighbour showering or having a conversation.

The nice location and around with shops and cafes. It would be great if the accommodation provided a hairdryer in room.

The room was small. The bathroom was a little smelly but it was clean. I’m not sure why it smells bad. The other things was good. Overall was ok.

Loved the location! There’s a weekend farmers' market nearby, and a hot spring park just across the street. Many places are also easily accessible on foot, which made exploring really convenient.

Room is Nice and clean, but there are no air conditioners or fan in the room, toilets and shower area need to clean always, because it’s common for everyone

The room was pretty small with a tiny window and the bathroom had a sliding door with a hook latch.

Good location for the hostel however would not recommend for anyone seeking a quiet stay. Poor sound insolation mixed with slamming heavy doors and gates proved difficult to get any sleep. Staff were friendly and nice and overall facilities were good.

The bedroom was nice And the kitchen was nice And everything is really clean And the reception person was really kind and nice But when I took a shower There was a cold water and hot water . And the light frequently turned on and turned off So it’s quite hard to take a shower But except this, everything was nice
