So this review is actually for the Hotel Roma Luxus. Caravita was under construction so they suddenly transferred our reservations to Roma Luxus a week before, allegedly as an “upgrade.” I’m not sure if it was truly an upgrade, as some of the aspects of the stay were not in line with the decently high price we paid - in my opinion.
They had all of the European quirks we were expecting - no bathroom ventilation, so-so air conditioning, one person elevator. But the big thing for me at that price point was that it lacked any decoration or Italian charm in the room (which had super scuffed up walls for some reason). Also the door didn’t close properly on its own and one day housekeeping accidentally left it cracked open for who knows how long while we were gone.
The spa features were nice, but a bit pricey at €90 for a (not warm) jacuzzi, small sauna, and Turkish spa that was too complicated to use. The masseuse they hired was very good though and that was money well spent. Customer service as a whole was kind of hit or miss. We really liked the lady who worked the front desk usually in the mornings. She was the most helpful, and the breakfast staff was so nice and doted over our baby non stop.
The breakfast was actually great compared to other European hotels we’ve been to, but I’m sure it would’ve been pricey had we not had that included in our original reservations. Otherwise, Hotel Roma Luxus simply did the job. We probably could’ve done better at that price point.
