My husband kept raving about this hotel. Ignore any negative reviews you might spot here. Front desk staff were attentive and pretty fluent in English (although it’s presumptive to expect that wherever we travel). The hotel is on a quiet street for Quito and had double-glazed windows (unusual in this temperate climate) so it was super quiet. I got there at night and closed the heavy drapes; only in the morning did I discover there were blackout shades, too — a nice touch. Abundant hot water (not always a given in Ecuador) and a spacious room. This hotel felt very luxurious to us. The pool and workout area, which we did not have time to use, was amazingly well appointed. Breakfast buffet was pretty varied and phenomenal as well. We felt pretty spoiled staying here. When we were there the English Ambassador and his entourage were also staying there, so I think it’s considered to be a pretty good place.

We usually try to stay at Marriott properties when travelling as we know what we are likely to get and my Platinum Elite status normally brings some extras. We had arrived into Quito on a late flight so it was around 1am when we were checking in - quite a simple process and the receptionist gave us a quick rundown on the hotels facilities before we went up to our room. The room and bathroom were reasonably spacious and were fine for the 2 nights we stayed. The bed was especially comfortable. Breakfast was a good selection on the ground floor with an egg station to go with a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately they hadn’t switched on the electric warming plate under the sausage and bacon so it was cold which took away the pleasure somewhat. They do have a lounge available to those on the club floors and Platinum members but the receptionist hadn’t given us the correct keycard so had to change it before we could enter. A few snacks and drinks available in the afternoon and 2 or 3 cooked items in the evening. We didn’t eat dinner in their restaurant as they are a number of other restaurants nearby. Overall a good stay with room for some improvement.

The Fogo de Chao Brazilian-style restaurant is the only standout feature of the hotel. Otherwise, (apart from the lovely roses), it's just like any other Marriott hotel. That's not to say it's bad. The rooms are spacious, comfortable & well soundproofed. At a superficial level, it's lovely. But one feels one is being processed by a hospitality machine, rather than being welcomed as a guest. Given the choice, the Casa Gangatena is a far better option.

Siamo rimasti qui all'inizio di gennaio prima di iniziare un viaggio di fotografia degli uccelli. Abbiamo avuto qualche giorno di anticipo per goderci la città. Arriviamo alle 2:00, e siamo stati saluti dal personale di ufficio e mostrati nella nostra stanza da un gentiluomo molto cortese. Abbiamo perso il colazione incluso il primo giorno, perché non siamo arrivati fino a 12😜. Ci sono due ristoranti e un meraviglioso negozio di caffè attaccato. La pizza a legno era deliziosa, come erano le pasticcerie al negozio di caffè. Il personale era molto accogliente e amichevole

Il centro di Wi-Fi è stato messo a disposizione di un'abitazione, una grande camera con una grande, bella bagno con la migliore doccia mai. È una bella posizione e non troppo lontano dalle principali attrazioni, il colazione non ha molte opzioni, quindi è stato poco deluso, a parte il nostro soggiorno è stato molto confortevole. Ottimo servizio clienti.

The Suites Metropoli may not be as stunning as some of the really fancy hotels one can find in Quito. It's a bit more quaint, much smaller. It is also far better - at least for anyone looking for a really great experience where you don't need to rely on tour groups, can get private (and amazingly knowledgeable and caring drivers - including the owner who is one of the kindest and most caring people you'll meet, so much so that it's hard to think of him as simply 'the owner'; he is someone very open-minded, intelligent, worldly and will take guests to amazing places in his car - a personal touch you'll find no where else. The rooms are quaint - they aren't these massive luxury rooms of some hotels - but they are what you actually want (you just don't know it yet!). It's a very 'authentic' experience - a place where you are made to feel at home, a place where you can learn and experience Quito and Ecuador at your own pace, and in a way that allows you really do things you want, with great guides you'll come to consider friends almost immediately. You won't get stuffed on tour busses and forced to experience things as a 'typical tourist' who isn't really immersing themselves in the country - a real shame for one of the most incredible places on Earth. The hotel is near the top of part of the upper city, close to Pinchincha, and you can see the entire city, Cotopaxi and other volcanoes from your windows - you'll really be on top of the world. If you are only staying a day or two, then this may not be the right place. If you want to actually experience Quito, Cotopaxi, Mindo, the Amazon, Guayaquil, etc. without being wrangled into tourist traps and with just those people you want with you, with incredible guides then this is where you have to stay. You can stay in grand hotels that try and keep you in, and not experience the city if you want - but if you are someone who isn't the 'tourist' that wants to just do the 'big hits' really quickly then you can't do better than Suites Metropoli. The owner, Santiago, also has some Air BNB's - and if you are looking for something a bit bigger, more private without feeling like you're in a hotel in Chicago - if you are visiting Ecuador from Europe, the US, Canada you can find fancy hotels that are designed to be ridiculously over the top anywhere - and if you are going to Ecuador for that experience, you aren't going for the right reasons. This is the diamond in the ruff, an incredible place that you'll love. It has served as a hotel for diplomats and foreign officials over the giant hotels for a reason. And I leave you with an anecdote to show you how great Santiago and his staff are: we wanted to go to a real touristy part of Quito. We asked him to get us a taxi - he refused! Now, why is that good? Because he refused due to a dramatic increase in crime against tourists in that part of Quito - he wasn't willing to help us go somewhere alone where he thought we could be in danger. Excellent service.Staff in all areas ready friendly so kind, educated and helpful in all matters.The cleaning and if the room and all the things are so neat.The restaurant excellent, they present a delicious menu , breakfast buffet always ready on time and variety, omelette my favorite and the natural juices. Molto buona esperienza.Da quando iniziano le persone sono molto amiche e si sentono benvenuti. Ottimo servizio e posizione. Anche se si trova in una strada e zona occupati, c'è sicurezza e molto vicino a negozi, ristoranti, banche, supermercato e anche un bel barbecue vicino alle strutture.Colazione da morire. Sicuramente consiglierà.

A great new hotel in Quito’s financial district, with plenty of great eateries around. The breakfast had something for everyone from cereal to toast, waffles to fruit. Staff were really attentive and always pleasant, polite and helpful. We chose this hotel as it had private underground parking, which was ideal and safe. My only criticism would be having to get the attention of someone to open the barriers to enter and leave. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend as an affordable stay in the city.
