Fabulous hotel in a convenient location close to everything in town. Easy Uber or taxi to the beach and Manuel Antonio. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, lovely breakfast and a beautiful garden.

Visited as part of a G adventures trip. Although our room was clean, this hotel is very dated and needs updating. No glass in bathroom window, just a net (that had holes in), slats missing from front window, mouldy shower curtain and poor air conditioning. Pool area small and grubby - broken tiles in pool. Breakfast expensive with no coffee included and no refills and cash only for payments. Would not recommend

Hotel Romantica was lovely, a little rustic, but that is Costa Rica. Staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and we had a visit from the local monkeys whilst in the pool which was amazing. Quepos as a place needs some investment but certainly Romantic is a lovely, clean and cost effective safe base.

Rustic accommodation. Small rooms. Wooden closet doors warped and unable to close properly. AC worked well in bedroom but bathroom had little airflow and stayed damp. Beds comfortable. Room safe did not work. Small pool with loungers was nice in the heat. Good breakfast available for order at the hotel. 15 minute walk to the waterfront and marina area. Local bus stop on road by hotel.

Neh The grounds are stunning, one afternoon we saw monkeys swinging through the trees behind the pool. The rooms are so-so, certainly not a "romantic" hotel with families and hikers, and travel groups going through, most banging their doors as they came and went. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker, no shampoo or even bath soap. Hard (bug huge) bed and flat pillows. The door knob kept falling off, so hubby pulled out a screw driver and fixed it himself. The a/c worked great and was sorely needed. The bathroom (while clean) always smelled of urine. The location is great with everything from food to the bus stop, to the beach, and the national park. But the hotel entrance is also about 50 feet from the only main road, so that also brings a lot of noise from motorcycles, busses and trucks, round the clock. For the dollar, we didn't feel like it was worth it and wouldn't return.

The hotel is like an oasis in an otherwise standard neighbourhood. The grounds are surrounded by a beautiful garden. Our room was simply but tastefully furnished. More than acceptable for a mid-range hotel. There was air conditioning and a fan which after our awful experience in San Jose was very appreciated. The staff were lovely and friendly. There was vegan porridge made with almond milk which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although there were no tea or coffee making facilities, they were happy to give hot water and we could purchase beverages and snacks. They had hair dryers that I could borrow. Good location in relation to beach, park and restaurants, shops, pharmacy, bakery.

Great Location I found my stay 5 stars based on comparing my other experiences when traveling to Quepos. The owners are on site daily. They take an interest in their guests and are always available. Location: Excellent. You have a bus stop 1 minute walk which takes you directly to Manuel Antonio Park. Town is a quick 5 minute walk to any place needed, to eat, etc. The pricing is highly reasonable. I have stayed at places that catered to more backpackers at much lower costs. Hotel Villa had a swimming pool which I desired on this visit and was willing to pay a higher price. However, the closer you get to Manuel Antonio, the hotels/spas/lodging all charge high fees compared to Hotel Villa. Therefore, if you need a clean room, comfortable, private bath, air conditioning, ownership oversight, and great customer service, it is doubtful you will find a comparable property in the Quepos area. It should be noted that buses run to Manuel Antonio every 15-20 minutes, and costs approximately 75 cents. Why pay 2-3x the nightly costs when you have the Hotel Villa to book.

Nice grounds and pool area with medium walk to town although not greatest neighborhood. Felt like everything was add on price. No fidge in room, no coffee or kettle at desk. Breakfast was not great and coffee refill not provided. Room poorly supplied. No TP or Kleenex. Although others have found the owner and staff friendly that was not my experience.
