Staff was exceptional, courteous, friendly and professional. Food was average. Our room was outdated and in poor location. I requested a different room and it was similar to the first room. We had to deal with strong sewer odor in bathroom because sewer was venting from the sink. We keep plunger closed when sink wasn't in use otherwise smell was overwhelming. Countertop and mirrors were old/damaged. Furniture/furnishings were outdated.

This resort was in an excellent location. From the airport and to the marina which had a great market on Thursdays. The restaurants and buffet at the resort were not great. If you have food allergies it is not a great resort for you. Lots of cross contamination of the food, i was sick three nights from this. The service at the buffet was horrible the limited number of staffing contributed to this problem. The swim up bar bartender did not understand english and had limited drink mixing knowledge.

This is my first time staying at an all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Vallarta, and I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the staff, food, beverages and property. When arriving, we were immediately greeted by a staff member and checked-in. Yes, the facilities are a bit outdated, but this did not take away from our experience and wanting to come back again!

We like the location of the Melia and that the marina is a short walk away with restaurants and shops. The resort could use some updating. The shower in our bathroom was not working properly and the rooms could use some paint and renovations. The resort is very clean and the staff are very accommodating. The lounge area could use some newer and more attractive furniture plus some better entertainment at night. Also a couple more al a carte restaurants. The food at the buffet was good with a lot of variety. All u all a nice resort just needs a few updates.

We had a great stay at the Melia in Puerto Vallarta in January. I would say the best thing about our experience was the friendliness and of the staff including the managers, check-in and check-out, and during dining. We always felt like they cared about our concerns and answered any questions we had. The pool is large and even though I read some complaints that it is not heated, we didn't have any issues and felt it was comfortable. The beach area was clean and maintained. The ocean was rougher than expected and the beach is more rockier in some areas than others, but it was still enjoyable and there were enough shallow areas that we felt safe with the kids. The location is close to the marina which you can get to in about 10 or 15 minutes of walking. Hiring a taxi or Uber was also very easy from the hotel. The hotel grounds are well maintained. Wildlife we saw onsite includes birds, iguanas, and turtles. There are 3 restaurants on the property - one buffet and 2 a la carte restaurants. The buffet was mostly good, but maybe could have had a few more items. The onsite Mexican a la carte restaurant was great for breakfast. The other a la carte serves mostly fish items which were good too. I think for the fish restaurant it would be nicer to have more "outdoor" seating to allow for more views as it felt a bit dark inside. The main reason for a 4 star rating is because the property is dated and could use a bit of a face lift, however the cleanliness was very excellent.

The staff were amazing in trying to help, even those who didn’t speak English would find someone who did to assist.
The food is mediocre at best.
The property is old and in need of help. The hot tub and swim up were closed when we were there due to hurricane damage so no fault of the resort. Chipped floor tiles in our room, worn out and warped pool tables, just a general feel of needing an update.
The staff are why I give it a full 5 stars.

We would love to come back to hotel melia, the service was amazing. The staff was attentive and super friendly. We enjoyed the food. The wifi connection was great. The beach was clean. Overall we had an great time!
Also want to thank Antonio for making my parents feel so welcomed!

The Entertainers / Pool Staff / Activity Staff were amazing and made the vacation so much more enjoyable. The bar/food service staff were also exceptional. We were very pleased with the variety and quality of food and drink. We'll be going back again !
