Casa Hotel Aroma 406

I stayed here for 3 nights on a solo trip. PROS: The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the Zocalo. If you walk the other direction, i.e., turn right instead of left when you exit the hotel, you will find busy crowded streets, 8 Oriente and 10 Oriente, with all kinds of shops and good street food. There is also a Farmacia Guadalajara a block from the hotel where you can buy snacks, drinks, pastries, and toiletries. There is a small cafe on the ground level of the hotel. My room was large, 344 sq ft (32 sq meters), with tall ceilings about 18-20 feet high (5.5 - 6.1 meters). The room was divided into 3 compartments: a bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom. Wifi was good, and there were outlets by the bed and elsewhere in the room to charge your electronics. Water in the shower was hot, with medium pressure. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and I slept well. Two small bottles of water were provided daily. My room was adjacent to an antiques room that contained a shared refrigerator, but I was the only one using it. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. Most speak at least a bit of English. I only paid $25 USD per night, including tax, on *********** with my Level 3 discount. It was well worth the money. The website says they don't accept credit cards, but they do. I paid with a credit card. CONS: My room window opened into the interior, not the outside, so I couldn't open the curtains or people would be able to see into the room. It said my room came with a terrace, but there wasn't one. There is no closet, just a short coat rack that wasn't tall enough to hang dresses or pants without them hitting the floor. However, these are minor complaints. I liked the staff, the hotel, and it's proximity to the Zocalo and busy commercial streets. I plan to stay there again on my next trip to Puebla.
