Really good location, close to railway and town centre. Plenty of parking space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and well-decorated. We requested and got easy-access room and walk-in shower. The breakfast was fresh and very tasty. Would recommend.

Just had a wonderful overnight stay at this fantastic house. It's so grand it's like living the life of the gentry back in the day. We were looked after from the minute we arrived by really obliging hosts followed by a truly great breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Jerry and Dina run a beautiful B&B. Parking in the back makes things super easy. This stop was important to us because my grandmother was from County Laois. Breakfast here was really special. Local history buffs should check out the library within walking distance.

We had been looking forward to our stay since we booked in May and it was a special occasion so we thought Ivyleigh Hotel would be perfect. Unfortunately we were given the garden room in the basement. There are serious plumbing issues that need to be addressed in this room. The smell of stale urine from this toilet is not acceptable. In hindsight we should have asked for another room. I brought this up with the owner upon checking out. A disappointing experience but we made the most of it all the same. Portlaoise otherwise was superb, we ate in Kelly's Steakhouse, highly recommend, and saw some great music. We will be back to Portlaoise again! We wish Ivyleigh House the best and hope they can resolve their issues so future guests can enjoy their stay.

This is a gorgeous house. The rooms are beautifully decorated in keeping with the style of house. The dining room is lovely but the breakfast is the star of the show. We enjoyed every element of our 2 night stay. Jerry and his staff were very accommodating and we felt very welcome. Would love to return some day
