Deteriorated since my previous stay in 2019 LOCATION: Excellent. Across the road from the beach. Linked to the Boardwalk Mall. APPEARANCE: Attractive. Victorian Style. Well maintained. ROOM (Stayed in a junior suite): Decor: Great. Blends in with hotel style. Size: Very spacious. Amenities: No extra blanket available during a cold spell. Cleanliness: Excellent. Quality of sleep: Very comfortable bedding. Cold. SERVICE: Appalling. Marked deterioration since my last visit. Needs a serious shake-up. I stayed just 1 night and yet 2 incidents of note: 1. Phoned housekeeping to request an extra blanket during a cold spell. I am still waiting for the blanket... 2. We were a group that booked 3 rooms. 2 people requested a 1-hour later checkout at adjacent receptionists at the EXACT same time. 1 receptionist happily met the request, the other bluntly refused without even asking a room number or even pretending to look at the computer screen! Lazy? Arrogant? Bad attitude? Poorly trained? Service at the Spa was excellent (But this is privately run by Camelot and not Sun International which probably explains the better service than the hotel) DINING: Breakfast was average. Clean spacious dining hall. Limited selection. lacking variety (Not 5-Star). Good quality and presentation. ACTIVITIES/FACILITIES: Great heated indoor pool - probably the hotel's biggest drawcard (Temperature should be turned up a notch though). Outdoor pool as well. Gym. Great spa. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Didn't have much time to explore. Ocean at the doorstep. MY BOOKING AGENT: Hotel website as an MVG member. Will I recommend/stay there again? Maybe. Not much competition in the area unfortunately. However with this service, they are trying hard to deter repeat visitors.

Stayed to 2 nights after a 5 week trip along Garden Route. Excellent place to stay to just chill. Rooms are around the pool, very clean with small kitchen facilities. Good eateries nearby and supermarkets. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast. Secure parking. Thanks for a relaxing 2 days before we leave wonderful South Africa.

Sulla carta le aspettative erano ben diverse ma appena arrivati in hotel il benvenuto è stato una puzza di cibo che permeava in tutte le aree comuni dell’hotel sicuramente proveniente dal proprio ristorante. Davvero nauseabondo! La camera era molto grande e spaziosa con un piccolo salottino ed un balconcino vista piscina però a mio avviso non era ben pulita. C’erano macchie e aloni un po’ ovunque su tutti i mobili. In bagno poi, finita la doccia, con il vetro ancora appannato si vedevano macchie ovunque segno proprio di una scarsa pulizia. Non posso giudicare la colazione perché abbiamo lasciato la camera al mattino presto dove però ci hanno preparato una piccola breakfast box d’asporto. La zona in fine non è delle migliori (non so se proprio tutta Port Elizabeth sia così), volevamo andare a piedi ad un ristorante ad un km di distanza sempre sul lungomare ma stesso dalla reception mi hanno sconsigliato di andarci a piedi ma in auto o con un uber. Insomma, per fortuna che sono stato una sola notte ma è un soggiorno da dimenticare.

L'atmosfera dell'hotel Paxton era sorprendente - tutto il personale era così amichevole a me e sempre sorridente. Il mio pranzo era anche molto buono, niente di straordinario, ma era caldo, fresco e veloce. La vista sull'oceano è molto bella e le camere sono pulite e perfettamente attrezzate. La bella consegna mi ha persino lasciato stare alla piscina dopo il checkout :)

If anyone has complaints about this hotel, please try staying at Radisson Blu for slightly more and regret your decision. This place is perfect, more than you could ask for. Space, cleanliness, service and amenities.

Ho avuto la possibilità di passare un weekend a CITY LODGE HOTEL P.E per la fine della vacanza scolastica. Non sono uno che scegliere l'accomodazione all'hotel perché è così costoso! City Lodge Hotel ha offerto tariffe ragionevoli e abbiamo dovuto anche provare il loro colazione buffet. La nostra famiglia aveva il tempo assoluto della loro vita! I bambini per la prima volta in un hotel e si godevano assolutamente del loro soggiorno e della sorprendente selezione al buffet colazione. Il personale era così amichevole e il posto è pulito angosciato! Questo hotel è la mia scelta finale!

It was a fantastic stay at the lodge. I was well looked after. My Dietary requirements were met. The owner even offered to go out of his was to buy special vegan food. I will defiantly recommend staying here. The location was good. I hardly wanted to leave the room. Thank you Lalapanzi and William
