I have to be clear here that I am reviewing a private rental within the resort. We rented a private unit (number 52) from a private owner who neglected to tell us that the resort is closed for renovation with accompanying workmen and noise. The resort should not be permitting this as the private owner is advertising things that are not available. Otherwise this is one of a handful of similar resorts scattered around Port Douglas with little to really set it apart. I wish i could give a better review but the impact of the closed resort and works mean that I cannot.

Apartment 10 is privately owned and I paid in advance for the one bedroom apartment. We arrived at 6pm to find a note on the kitchen bench asking us to ring immediately and not unpack. Rang someone who said they help look after the apartment (not the owner) and they told us there are alot of workman, renovations happening, the pool is closed and they offered a different apartment. We were tired and accepted the different apartment. It's just a studio flat. Then we realised the resort is closed!!!!!! I spoke to the reception here and these works have been happening for months. Only a couple of private owners allowed on site. We were moved to a block of units at the back with no view. Don't get duped. DO NOT BOOK APARTMENT 10

Don’t book here if you are not going n your twenties and really fit ! I’m in my late sixties, and like most, have developed a few medical issues. They don’t tell you that you have to walk up three flights of stairs and there’s no lifts. The place was nearly empty, but we were told that the ground floor units were not available because they were being renovated. When you book, they take your card details, and you pay in advance, ( fair enough ) but then they won’t let you book in bless you email them photo identification ! Why ? There can be absolutely NO legitimate reason for this….makes you wonder if they are selling your personal information to a third party ! ! !

Fantastic holiday with fantastic friends. Staff were very accommodating. Facilities were clean. Pool areas were great. Lovely Balinese vibe. Beautiful gardens and surrounds. Highly recommend a stay here.

A great place to stay with friends or family, adjoining rooms with great facilities, very spacious and a balcony for each room, Two lovely pools with bbq facilities .Lots of steps if you are on the 2nd floor, near the Main Street and close to the beach. We have stayed here several times, Staff are very helpful in organising tours etc.

Very relaxing holiday. Perfect location for town. Staff were pleasant and room was clean. A little noisy sometimes but the rooms are above and below so can’t help that. Pools cleaned regularly and bbq used often but guests.

What a find! Perfect location, short stroll to everything in Port Douglas. Pools are lovely, laundry onsite, towels provided for the pools, very comfy king size bed and a spa bath in our one bedroom unit. Very clean room and everything you’d want. Only negative (being a retired couple) was our room was on the top floor and lugging up suitcases up 3 flights of stairs was tough. Fiona and Jenny were very helpful and courteous. Small kiosk to buy ice creams and snacks to indulge by the pool and a book swap area. Highly recommend. Thank you for 10 perfect days.

We chose Hibiscus for its excellent position as we could not walk too far. We found it very accessible to beach and shops and restaurant. The apartment was spacious and convenient. We enjoyed using the pool and the garden was very attractive.

Grounds are beautiful . Wonderful pools and atmosphere. Close to beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Great location.
Some reception staff don't demonstrate good customer service while others helpful . Felt at times was being nickled and dimed. Charged for toilet paper and doing laundry. Think given cost of staying this should be included as other apartments don't charge for this where we have stayed. Didn't think apartment was that clean on arrival and no room cleaning with apology they don't have staff . Should at least place sanitizer in apartment and mop or swifter so we could clean ourselves.
