Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive

Weeks stay, 14yr old son in tow. First trip to Bulgaria. We’ll be back. Massive complex literally on the beach. Several pools including a few waterslides and a splash area that sadly I was too old for but looked like a lot of fun. There were plenty of beds even able to get a day bed in the adults only section at around 09:30. One pool was essentially empty most of last week with full Sun and empty loungers. Only a struggle if you have to be next to the water or in ‘your’ spot *sigh*. The beach is NOT owned by the hotel (as the sign clearly states) so yes it’s open access. The hotel puts out plenty of loungers and parasols and a somewhat inattentive series of lifeguards. The beach is small and slightly rough. There’s little tide to speak of and is shallow up to 40m out. Oh and the sea is luke warm, perfect really. We got a swim up room, note of caution it’s not really swim up it does NOT connect to the main pools. Rather it’s a long thin pool joining about 15 rooms. It was plenty warm we used it daily and had no issues ( must have the right constitution I guess). Our room was large, bright, well air conditioned and certainly as clean as our home (sadly there’s a little dust under our beds and we should probably scrub the bathroom daily rather than weekly). The gym was modern and reasonable for a hotel. It’s not Golds and wouldn’t satisfy some of the trentastic physiques on display but ok. Didn’t use the spa, the indoor pool was closed (because it’s summer and 30deg and there’s loads OUTSIDE). On site doctor, didn’t use but was staffed and with a consulting room. Shop was well stocked and thanks to the exchange rate reasonably priced.you can use the currency exchange there too. Food and drink. Self service, Costa coffee machines, soft drinks and beer on tap, wine and ouzo at meals. Actual size glasses! A first in many all ins I’ve been to. Fresh meat,fish,pizza,pasta yes you might wait a little bit. It’s being cooked in front of you. Salads, a range of stuff, admittedly slanted a little Germanic but never a bother to eat. Loads of cakes and an icecream Machine for dessert. Between meals the out door snack bar or indoor sandwich bar were available to prevent you wasting away. The animation team were visible but not pushy, no idea if the entertainment at night was any good but the outdoor amphitheater looked impressive. Was there anything bad? Reception staff were a little frosty. The dinning hall was chaotic, busy, loud. It was full of feral children and people with no manners or idea how to behave in a public space. The water and mess on some tables should have led to some kind of ban and I feel deeply sorry for the staff left cleaning up after some groups. Was it enough to spoil the trip no. Just ground my gears. Oh they need way more serving implements. Some people will ALWAYS moan. Ignore them this place is pretty good for a relaxing warm weather break. I’d go again

Wave Resort is the place that won my heart. Great hotel! Service, rooms, food, animations for children and adults and swimming pools - everything at the highest level. The food is brilliant and the service impeccable. Cleanliness and comfort are a priority. Animators are masters! I was delighted with the smiling and cheerful animators who tried to communicate in every language. The animators at Wave Resort are not only professional, but also full of passion and smiles. Their goal is to make each guest feel special. From morning aqua aerobics to evening performances - every moment spent with them is unforgettable. Various activities take place every day at the hotel. Guests can participate in sports tournaments, competitions, evening shows and many other attractions. Animators make sure that everyone finds something for themselves... Children love animations at Wave Resort! The mini club offers creative games and many other attractions. Parents can rest easy knowing that their children are in good hands. In short, Wave Resort is a fairy-tale place that meets the expectations of even the most demanding guests.

I stayed at the wave resort with my daughter and another family of 4. It was my first holiday abroad in over 12 years and my daughters first holiday abroad….I wasn’t disappointed ☺️ The hotel is clean, most staff lovely & the food was lovely, amazing choice at each meal times. Also a snack bar available, which is great for the kids. The hotel is quite remote with nothing really within walking distance, but taxis are available for the short drive to sunny beach & Nessebar. We visited at the beginning of May when all the amenities weren’t open but that wasn’t an issue. It was nice as the hotel wasn’t too busy. Massive shout out to Kiko from the entertainment team. He’s absolutely fantastic with the kids (and adults ) so much fun, makes everyone feel welcome with the numerous languages he speaks & 100% made our holiday more enjoyable, great guy! I would definitely stay again.

Checked out 3rd June, Overall good but a couple of things let it down hence why not 5 stars. Good points, Facilities are very good Cleanliness is excellent Staff very attentive Everything is there when you need it. Not so good points, Evening entertainment is very repetitive -Same thing every night. We had Dance acts every night, there is no variety! Restaurant food isn't warm enough, it's cold by the time you've got back to your table to eat! You don't also have a chance to finish your meal before plates are taken from you. The outdoor pools are freezing cold. Overall it was a good holiday, would highly recommend a visit to Nessebar, Pomorie is Ok, but there isn't an awful lot to do /see there, plus you get dropped off in the middle of town without any guidance or help as to where things can be found! If you are going with Jet2, I would recommend the South tour as an excursion- lasts all day and is full of facts and info about Bulgaria, you get a good river boat ride and lunch as well. We will return in the future, but we wouldn't stay for any more than seven nights.

Just returned from a fabulous holiday at The Wave Resort, we had a standard side sea view room, it was spacious with a great shower, plenty of shelf and hanging space for belongings, very comfortable bed and efficient air conditioning. Housekeeping was great, toiletries and minibar were checked and stocked daily. The whole hotel was immaculately clean, there was a big storm overnight while we were there and everything was returned to normal very quickly in the morning. Food and drinks were available 24/7, we particularly enjoyed the food court by the activity pool during the day, so much choice of freshly prepared hot and cold food such as wraps, chicken, wedges, various salad pots, fresh fruit, doughnuts, waffles and lots more! The bistro bar was also a bonus, with sandwiches, toasties and all sorts of snacks and drinks available even through the night. The main dining room was busy but we always found somewhere to sit, the staff quickly cleared tables and plates etc. there was a huge choice of food both hot and cold, often it was prepared in front of you. On the Saturday evening there was a gala dinner, the range of seafood available was incredible! Loved the eggs Benedict at breakfast and stir fries at dinner in particular! The costa coffee machines were great and we enjoyed being able to serve ourselves with whatever dinks we liked. Enjoyed the beach bar in the evening and great cocktails in the lobby bar. We found the staff to be lovely, everyone worked so hard, we don’t speak a word of Bulgarian but were always greeted with a smile and someone would be able to help with whatever we needed. We took the shuttle bus into Pomorie, it was easy to book through the concierge and dropped us near the centre of the town - all worked efficiently. We (S & J)would like to give a special thanks to Kiko and the amazing animation team, they made us feel so welcome and we had such fun with the games and activities that they worked so hard with, they included everyone and were never pushy, they always made us smile.

Wave Resort is a beautiful modern hotel complex. It is spotlessly clean and there is a good variety of food and drink available from early until late. Although the food never seemed to be very hot and by the time you got back to your table, it was quite often barely warm. The pools are amazing to look at but quite cold and not for the faint-hearted. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. We asked to change our room as we are two ladies and were given a double bed. This was changed to a twin room with a minimum of fuss. On the whole, the customer facing staff were friendly. However, some of the staff in the dining room and bars were very sombre and did not engage even when we said good morning and thank-you in Bulgarian. The resort itself is quite isolated and there isn't anything in the surrounding are other than a dual carriageway and fields, so if you want to go anywhere, you have yo take a taxi.

I’ll start by saying we flew with Jet2 from Manchester and the check in / security process was a dream. Well done Jet2, what a stark comparison to ‘Not So Easy Jet’ earlier this year. Wave resort is large with some 400 bedrooms, it has a smart lobby/lounge area with lots of comfy seating. God knows how they keep those cream sofas so clean! The whole area was spotless with cleaners always around doing their thing. We booked a swim up ‘lagoon’ room , the room was spacious and nicely furnished BUT the first room we were allocated didn’t get the sun. We did ask for a room move which was executed with minimal fuss and we really. enjoyed the privacy and convenience of the swim up room. If you are booking one of these and intend to sunbathe there be sure to ask for one on the sunny side! The pool wasn’t heated but didn’t cause a problem and was nicely refreshing. The restaurant is huge, a little bit canteen-ish but again furnished nicely and in different sections so to speak. The staff are always there clearing and cleaning. Obviously the area closest to the buffet was always rammed with those wanting easy access but further down was a bit more peaceful, if a bit of a walk backwards and forwards to the buffet. There is outside seating but it gets very busy, there’s also a covered outside part at the very back but there’s not much atmosphere there. The service element is lacking as there is no table service to speak of at this hotel but there are self service drinks stations every so often - wines, beer on draught, soft drinks dispenser, some spirits. There are Costa coffee machines which are a bit slow and don’t make a particularly nice coffee unfortunately. (Add an espresso to your cappuccino if you like any strength to your coffee!) The food is OK, always a large selection of what you’d usually expect at an all Inclusive. Not the best we’ve had but certainly not the worst. The food temperature is an issue as mentioned in other reviews, given the vast size of the restaurant it was often cold by the time you got back to your table. There are three ‘a la carte’ restaurants but having looked at the menus which were a bit limited we didn’t bother with them. There’s a self service café outside of restaurant opening times so you’ll literally never go hungry. The staff are quietly efficient and will give you a smile if you say please and thank you and smile at them. The reception team were perfectly pleasant to us and not as reported in other reviews. There are a number of pools which all looked very nice and clean with plenty of beds, we didn’t use them because of having the swim up room. The hotel was extremely busy with families, lots of children around with the clientele being mainly Eastern European & Israeli and their kids apparently not returning to school until mid September, which we hadn’t anticipated. There is an adults only pool however, but we felt the beach bar could have been adult only after 9pm, as it would have been nice to h

What a great hotel Rooms very spacious and clean, nothing too much trouble for housekeeping we had 2 triple rooms and a family Transfer a bit longer than we normally do , arrived about 4pm dumped luggage in room and then took children to find play park, they need to run of some energy, found park then they decided to just get wet, took of outer clothes and in pool, staff thought they were hilarious. Dining room for main buffet is huge with a large assortment of dishes sometimes too much to choose from , usual buffet problems if not being very hot but edible. Staff very attentive brought drinks on request and sometimes no request , Mehmet had a table reserved for us each night 10 people . Lovely lounge bar with seating inside and out , always a smile on staff faces and always willing to help. Beach bar and restaurant we found better suited for lunch ( no having to cover up wet swim suits) , food hot and tasty. Evening entertainment varied some good some bad . Spa very soothing elderly mum had massage and thoroughly enjoyed it others had the full Turkish experience. We booked a sunset boat tour and had boat to ourselves , kids enjoyed swimming with turtles ( ages 3, 7, 8 and 10 and if course dads ) highlight of the holiday day then kids. Swimming pools very clean and always sunbeds available, foam party one of the days , archery always something going on , slides busy but no queuing needed . This hotel takes a lot of walking from one end to the other but you have no rush to get anywhere and plenty of places to sit and rest .
