Villa Flavia Heritage Boutique Hotel

Had a wonderful stay at Villa Flavia - could not recommend this hotel enough. Perfectly located for quick access to Kapana district (trendy restaurants and bars!), old town and ancient ruins. Hotel and room were gorgeous, including a great roof terrace. Breakfast was good with enough variety and service was excellent. The Roman bath ruins below the hotel are impressive, with short tours offered.

A hotel filled with exquisite characteristics and identity, a true definition of quality, personalization and superb hospitality. Great location in the centre of most points of attractions, quality services and amenities - great hospitality from the staffs, very sumptuous breakfast spread, beautiful and clean room with great bed. And most uniquely of all is the presence of the past historical ruins co-existing with the now. Amazing experience.

Wonderful hotel being built upon an ancient bath house. Centrally located. Amazing staff that were friendly, warm, accommodating and treated us like family. Must visit. We will be back for sure.

Very beautiful hotel! Reception guy was so nice. Perfect location and very clean and comfortable room! Bed was very comfortable. Have also parking and this is very important because at this area is impossible to park your car! Definitely we will visit again!

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very professional. Comfortable room, clean, and quiet. The location was fantastic - it is close to restaurants, shopping, and sites. The parking was secure, and the directions emailed from the hotel staff helped me locate it.

Truly outstanding. Villa Flavia is built on top of Roman bath ruins and they have lovingly and beautifully preserved them below the main lobby. Make sure you take them up on their offer for a short tour to see the original marble of the pool, original tunnels that demonstrate the heating mechanism (hypocaust). My boyfriend and I both looked at each other on our first night and said “this was a great choice” - property & rooms are lovely & comfortable - overlooks a gorgeous courtyard where you can have breakfast - fantastic buffet breakfast with great spread: hot items, Bulgarian yogurt and toppings, banitsa, pancakes, fresh squeezed oj, excellent espresso - parking was ultra convenient and worth the modest fee - roof top terrace is also lovely - cannot beat the location in old plovdiv, close to all of the museums, restaurants, Roman stadium, etc.

Villa Flavia really pulled out all the stops when it comes to service. We were provided with a tour of the Roman remains in the basement even though it probably wasn't the most convenient time for the staff. The reception also answered our questions when we needed it. The breakfast was varied and the breakfast/bar area has a lovely warm national revival era feel to it. Breakfast included homemade Bulgarian yoghurt and banitsa. The room was of excellent quality, and we slept well with a choice of pillows. We were lucky to have what I think was the only room with a little balcony. The hotel booked a taxi for us from the airport at Plovdiv when we arrived, which we recommend doing as public transport seemed to be limited. Finally, they supplied us with a city map and talked us through restaurant recommendations (a lot of places seem to do this in Plovdiv).

This is one of the nicest, most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in. We stayed in one of the small rooms (Elegant) for 3 nights and while small, the bed was large and comfortable. Our room had a great little terrace that looked out over the street which we used every even to drink some wine and people watch. The bathroom was very clean and even better had an actual large shower, with a door that closed and did not splash water all over the floor, which is a rare and surprising luxury in Europe. The included breakfasts were delicious and had a variety of offerings including very good scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, small pasteries, etc., along with the usual cold meats and cheeses, yogurt and cereal that most hotels offer. The staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly, and they gave us a nice little tour of the Roman bath that was discovered during construction, which added to the charm and ambiance of the hotel. The location is excellent and very walkable. There is a private parking lot, but we ended up not using it since we only rented a car for one day. Our only complaint was the room got kind of stuffy at night, but we could not use the air-conditioning because the central system was set to heat (it was late October) and they could not switch on the A/C to one room. We did open the window to ventilate the room, but closed it while sleeping due to the proximity to the street noise and vehicle exhaust (not the hotel's problem, Plovdiv would be well served to limit vehicular traffic in this area). Overall, a fantastic hotel with incredible staff and a great value!
