The property was clean and service was friendly and helpful. Most everyone spoke English which was helpful for us. As soon as we needed anything like more coffee for our room, we got it. They also decorated my room for my birthday which as a special touch.

The property was clean and the staff was very nice. The pools and pool bar were close to the rooms and in good condition. The beach was great and very few vendors. The food was average and the restaurants were primarily buffets. The drive to Fifth Avenue was 10 minutes and cost $10.

They have great buffets with plenty of options for dining. Santos, the drink deliverer by the pools, was fabulous.

We chose Riu because we had a very good experience in Costa Rica with them. Unfortunately, the experience did not match. Upon arrival, we were told the room had two twin beds. We were a family of 4, paid for 4 people. (my 13 year old was charged as an adult even though he would not be drinking any alcohol). Yet the room had enough sleeping space for 2 people. When we brought this up to them, we were told that we pay for the wrist bands and not for the beds. Yet they weren't going to give us another room. How are we supposed to sleep? They brought in another small twin bed which barely fits in the room. But there are still 4 people in the room. The rudeness of the situation was incredible.
There are not enough lounge chairs for the amount of people in the resort. The food was decent, but not like other food we have had in Mexico.
They did provide with plenty of bottled water in the room to brush your teeth and drink. The resort was very clean. Unfortunately, as often as we go to playa del Carmen, we will never stay at this resort again.

Transportation from airport to hotel very long and unreliable since it is not included in all inclusive deal!!!!

Very clean resort. Great service and friendly employees. Wish the food was better in terms of flavor and alcohol was more consistent though. We still had a good stay and didn’t have any issues.

Property is very clean and staff is very friendly. Many choices for food that was all delicious. The beach was very clean and only a couple guys bugging you about purchasing items from them. I will stay at this property again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. There were several options of restaurants with a variety of food. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had an oceanfront view that was beautiful.
