The owner is absolutely fabulous and super friendly. The staff has been incredibly warm and service minded and the facility itself is very very cozy. You feel secluded in your individual room surrounded by hundreds of amazing looking plants, flowers, and trees that really takes you into the middle of the jungle. There is even yoga and a breakfast menu that exceeds all expectations. And I love a good breakfast. The room itself is very spacious and smells amazing every time we came in. The bathroom and shower area is huge and the products that they use in the in the shower are of the highest quality. You feel so fresh after a day on the beach or out exploring. If we come back to this side of Costa Rica again, we will absolutely be staying here again. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and lots of interesting and spectacular restaurants just minutes away. The pricing was absolutely reasonable. Definitely recommended.

This is the perfect laid back Costa Rica place to stay. Walk to beach, Attentive staff, comfortable rooms and beds, AMAZING and I mean AMAZING food. Relaxed vibe- and salt water pool was perfect. Everything you need to unwind and relax with family and/or friends.

We spent five unforgettable nights at Soulshine, and it was truly a slice of paradise! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcomin and the rooms are beautifully designed, blending comfort with a tropical, laid-back vibe. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the stunning Playa Avellana, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets and morning surf sessions. The lush surroundings made every moment feel like a retreat. And the staff? Absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations for local spots and activities. Whether you’re looking to surf, unwind, or simply soak in the pura vida lifestyle, Soulshine is the perfect place. We’re already dreaming of our next stay!

I love the vibe of Soulshine. Family owned and run and felt very special. The food is amazing and the rooms have great architectural elements which are spread out around the tropical landscape for privacy . The extra large and beautiful shower with lemongrass products were a nice experience . I highly recommend this place.

Hidden gem in one of the best areas of Cost Rica! The staff go over the top to make sure you feel welcome and taken care of. The pool view cabin was luxurious and perfect. The food is out of this world! You must try the Almond Bombs. I'll be back with my kiddos! If you're looking for a place to stay before or after visiting Rythmia, this is it.

We had a wonderful stay at SoulShine with our family of 4. We are two adults and two teens. The treehouse room was perfect for all of us. The resort is very relaxed, and quiet. There are two treehouse rooms that are side by side but most of the other rooms seem to be more bungalow style and it gives the place a very private feel. The pool is refreshing with plenty of places to relax. The whole atmosphere, design and decoration of the hotel is beautiful. This is not a big chain style resort. You will experience a unique atmosphere and one of a kind stay. Part of that unique experience is the food at the restaurant. It is amazing. So fresh and delicious. We loved everything we had there (and we sampled everything!) The beach is a short walk away and there are several restaurants within walking distance. They are all wonderful. Full disclosure, the main road is quite busy and does not have sidewalks. For us it was fine, but if you have small children, it may be best to have a car. You can easily stay here without a car and just enjoy the local area and beaches. If you want to venture out, you will need to ask for a taxi or hire a car service. The staff at SoulShine are very helpful and can make these arrangements for you. We highly recommend SoulShine! We hope to return some day!
