Hotel Melia Vinpearl a Phu Quoc Island

Excellent stay! The resort generously upgraded our room to a three-bedroom Villa for free although we did not ask for it. When we entered our villa, we were stunned by the spaciousness immediately, There were four washrooms, three bedrooms, a large private swimming pool, a decent kitchen, large dining area and living room, there were also two balconies on the first floor to view the sunset and feel the sea breeze during our 4-day stay. The facilities were also amazing, the water was crystal clear in the beach, exceptional Vietnamese coffee supplied for breakfast, room service was quick and up to standard. The staff was friendly and helpful and their English was surprisingly fine. In terms of negatives, the TV was relatively not big enough compared to the room size, there was no coffee machine, only some instant coffee sticks were provided in the villa, definitely not ideal for coffee lovers. Besides, the Italian restaurant in the resort didn't accept us to pay in cash, unfortunately our credit cards were left in the villa as we thought cash would be accepted. This was a bit annoying since cash of Vietnamese Dung is a legal tender, meaning you must accept it as means of payment by law (unless it is a stock transaction or big business acquisition or merger). After some difficult back-and-forth communications, the staff finally accepted that we could pay in cash, glad that they didn't break the law. Overall great value for money, during our trip we have stayed in three different resorts and this one was obviously the best ones in almost every aspect. Highly recommended If you would like to have an affordable luxurious experience without breaking the bank.
