Pousada Catarina

The pousada has only 6 rooms and is located right on the Praia Grande beach about 15 minutes from Paraty. It is new and everything is in good condition. We booked an upstairs room (superior) with sea view which I would definitely recommend as it has a big balcony with a great view. It was really relaxing to hear the sound of the waves. I would not recommend the ground floor rooms as the view is blocked by a cottage between the building and the beach. The room was stylish and comfortable with some nice touches such as a nespresso machine, kettle and umbrellas. The only thing missing that would have made it better was some comfortable chairs or sun loungers to relax on the balcony. Breakfast was served in the São Francisco restaurant affiliated to the pousada which is located right on the beach. Service and food were both great. It’s open all day for meals, snacks and drinks and is very good. From the other side of the beach you can walk to another nice beach “Prainha” through a path (a bit rough though) in about 10 minutes. It’s quite small and can get crowded but was still very nice. It’s nicer for swimming than Praia Grande which had a lot of boats coming and going. We went on a private boat trip for a day around various islands and small beaches leaving right from the beach in front of the pousada which was fantastic. The pousada has parking but it’s quite cramped and sometimes the access can be difficult. Overall we had a very good stay and I would recommend this pousada.

Um paraiso, para descansar, se divertir e comer bem!! Cafe da manha maravilhoso! Funcionários super gentis e solicitos! Acomodacao otima, cama e travesseiros bons, toalha de banheiro! Limpeza excelente, perfeito para quem deseja aproveitar a natureza!

Eu e meu marido ficamos hospedados 5 dias na pousada e com certeza, se pudéssemos, ficaríamos muito mais. Quarto extremamente limpo, confortável e com uma vista linda. Equipe solícita e gentil. O café da manhã é maravilhoso, de qualidade e muito bem servido. Começar o dia com o excelente atendimento, com uma ótima refeição e uma linda vista, é muito revigorante. Deixo um comentário especial sobre os meninos que serviram o café (Paulo e Fabio): super gentis, educados, gente agradável pra se ter por perto, profissionais que nitidamente exercem com muito zelo e empenho suas funções. Também recebemos uma dica excelente da Perla, instruções do Pedro... enfim, o serviço oferecido é de qualidade, e isso se dá muito por conta de quem faz acontecer. Ah, existe uma trilha pertinho da pousada que dá acesso a uma praia lindíssima também. A pousada oferece um combo perfeito pra quem está buscando tranquilidade. Poucos minutos a pé de uma praia belíssima (percurso que também pode ser feito por caiaque pela costa), praia de pescadores em frente a pousada para quem só quer ouvir o mar e fazer uma boa refeição com a natureza ao redor, 20 minutos de carro para o centro. Com certeza voltaremos.
