Nice quiet place with good swimming pool . However the hot tub was not operational and we had not been informed about this beforehand, which was extremely disappointing . The bathooms are very dated, which was also disappointing . It would be better if there was front desk to assist customers, rather tham doing it all by email.

Fantastic classic old Palm Springs style, large rooms with kitchenettes, beautiful views, great communication with hotel, will definitely stay again.

Great stay at this peaceful property located within a ten minute walk of the heart of Palm Springs. The vintage rooms may not be for all, but #2 was clean, spacious and true to the mid-century modern aesthetics so common to the area.

The property is a 1956 relic, which has pros and cons.
Pros: Charming. Stylish details from a bygone era. Great location. Great customer service via text message. La Croix in the fridge.
Cons: While clean, it smells a bit dank from age. The bathroom has no fan. The sink is about 36 inches high. The fold-out ironing board may be the original. The walls are decorated with vaguely racist vintage magazine cutouts depicting native Hawaiians. The bed is uncomfortable. The AC blows on the bed.
Just be aware of what you're getting. This is not modern construction styled to look like 50's. It's 1956 construction, with a lot of the original 1956 stuff.

We have stayed at this classic, small hotel in the tennis club neighborhood for over 10 years, at least once a year. We love its mid-century feel and the quiet location so convenient to downtown (easy 5 block walk). It has been sold recently (2 yrs ago?) and I feel that it needs some TLC. The jacuzzi isn't working, there are no free bikes anymore, the bathrooms especially need remodeling and the breakfast goods in the communal kitchen are no longer, although there were some nice goodies and fizzy water in our room to enjoy along with a Keurig coffee maker and good Peets coffee. We would still stay here but I hope that the new owners invest some more time in the upkeep.

We absolutely loved our stay at Desert Hills! Our room was super spacious, clean and the air con was quiet (a small detail but a rare thing). Some say the room is dated we loved the style and was what we were looking for in a Palms Spring hotel! A short walk to the restaurants/shops etc. Would really recommend to anyone looking for a quiet hotel but still close to the action!

Gorgeous location, rooms clean and well-maintained, lovely chilled and a private, exclusive vibe to the place - in the right way, though. Check in and out was smooth and they accommodated my later arrival with zero fuss.

This place needs an investment in maintanence…peeling paint in the bathroom, broken blinds, etc. The contactless system had varied responses and most were confused who were entering as we sat by the pool. Would not stay here again.
