Broadshade Holiday Apartments

Apartment very clean hand towels in bathroom had dark marks on them but they smelt clean the beds were that uncomfortable we came home a day early as we couldn’t have another night without sleep disappointed that after we paid and booked we had an email to say they were charging us £22 for dog we took two dogs with us manager said we only take cash for it we had no cash so did eventually pay by card

I would avoid at all costs. My experience was so bad I moved out after 3 nights and I had booked for 7. No refund was offered. (1) It was unsafe (in particular as a woman travelling alone) - the sash window would not lock making access easy for anyone and I only discovered this at 1am when woken by a noise at the window; I reported it in the morning and it was fixed however neither the manager Dave or the owner Leena offered any understanding of how dangerous this was or how scared I was. (2) There were a lot of dogs loose in the garden and no effort was made by the owners to keep them away from people who might be nervous of them and if you don't like cigarette smoke there was no escape from it. (3) The apartment was dirty - in particular the ceiling lights were full of dead insects and dirt; the glass table had not been cleaned at all and was covered in finger prints which I discovered when I went to have my first meal; plus the seal around the sink and shower were mouldy - Leena sent someone called Dave (different to Dave the manager) to replace the shower seal although not the sink - I naturally thought he worked for Broadshades but Dave the manager told me the next day he was a guest - I do not appreciate having other guests in my space when I am on my own. (4) The location is on a very steep hill which is not described on their website - if you are in any way disabled or older or struggle with walking or don't have a car (like myself) it is impossible to get out and about. I reported all this the morning after arrival and again when I moved out and all I received in return was a defensive response (that they had fixed the window and cleaned the lights and table after I reported them but they should not have been like it in the first place); in particular there was no apology or understanding of how dangerous the window not locking was and no apology for not describing the steep hill location, and no refund. I waited a month after my stay to post this review but there has been no follow from Broadshades and no update on their website.

Broadshade is lovely. Off road parking, dog friendly with a secure garden for them. Staff lovely. Located in the quieter part of Paignton. Lovely walks and near to the beach. The only downside is St Andrews Road is a steep hill!

Holiday from hell! We couldn't stay here as they had advertised it with different pictures. There wasn't a proper sofa to sit on and there wasn't enough seating in the 'lounge' for 7 people as advertised. We had to get a refund and find somewhere else to stay the bathroom for 7 was a converted pantry. You walk into the bedroom with a basin at the side of it not very inviting at all. No compensation given for ruining our holiday or the stress of the whole situation for myself being heavily pregnant, my elderly father and my young child this was very distressing. I would avoid!

Very good location for Paignton seafront and beach. Clean and very well maintained. Was a little surprised at an older oven when alot of other things had been replaced so wasn't energy sufficient when cooking! Dog friendly and has a secure bsckgarden for your dogs. Upset to see some people had failed collect their dogs poo. You have to pay for your own electric so should be around a £1 a day.
