Hotel in zona Mae Haad Beach, Onna

The Bay Villas,  Haad Salad,Koh Phangan, Thailand. I have been visiting Thailand for over 16 years and have travelled to various areas in that time. l have just had an epic Honey Moon stay at Bay Villa, Haad Salad, Koh Pha-ngan! To say we had a fabulous time would be an understatement as it was priceless for so many reasons! Yes the Villa was sensational all round: clean, spacious, great rooms with all the modern facilities you could dream of including a sensational infinity pool overlooking the lovely Haad Salad Beach, privacy, secure, modern, beach access, with great attention to detail. The highlight was the exceptional views.   The staff, the porters, the house keepers & receptionists and l even met the General Manager who were all very helpful and very friendly.  The breakfast set up was of the highest quality, the best l have seen in Thailand. However, the best was their Honeymoon offer, the welcome drinks, the exquisite food, Champagne, native flowers on the tables, benches & all the bed rooms were decorated with flowers and the words “HAPPY HONEY MOON”  spelt out on each bed using native palms.  We felt like royalty & were looked after exceptionally.  This blew us away as l have never seen so much effort in making our stay so very special. A massive “THANK YOU” to all the Staff & Management at Bay Villas!!! ❤️👍🌹🙏

From our first email exchange to the good bye early in the morning, Apple was fantastic. She made our stay so comfortable that I would return to Long Bay without hesitation. The beach is secluded, quiet and calm. The bungalows are honest to the photos and 3 stars. Kept very clean and tidy, room cleaning was offered too. The pool was very clean also. Overall a lovely spot with a fantastic customer service. Thumbs up for the driver who drove us around the island always with a smile on his face. Great way to support local business during difficult times with very few tourists.

Servizio amichevole e professionale, grande colazione, piscina perfetta con vista sorprendente, solo prezzo leggermente sovravalutato ma comunque per ogni raccomandazione

Il Varivana Hotel è situato a pochi km dal Thong Sala. La posizione dell’hotel è mediocremente buona. Dal punto di vista architettonico l’hotel è stupendo e la infinity pool è favolosa. Per quanto riguarda la camera non è grandissima (noi abbiamo optato per una soluzione Junior Suite). Aprendo le valigie, lo spazio a disposizione per due persone si riduce notevolmente. Il bagno ha una doccia stupenda con vista. Peccato che sul vetro ci sono segni molto evidenti di calcare incrostato. Purtroppo il condizionatore è posizionato esattamente sulla parete accanto al letto (vedi foto). Quindi o accetti di avere il getto continuo durante la notte (rischiando una paralisi) oppure accetti di patire il caldo rischiando di essere infastidito dalle zanzare. Non sono presenti zanzariere. Ultima nota dolente della camera: sia le ciabatte fornite per la camera, che le infradito per la piscina, erano usate con chiari segni di sporcizia (vedi foto). La colazione è abbondante. Un vasto menù che offre differenti scelte culinarie (dal salato al dolce). La signora che si occupa della gestione della colazione è gentilissima e super professionale. Abbiamo avuto qualche disguido per quanto riguarda il servizio dello staff della piscina: hotel quasi pieno e lettini non sufficienti a garantire un posto per tutti gli ospiti. Di conseguenza il voto è totalmente negativo in quanto prenoti al Varivana esclusivamente per l’infinity pool. Per il prezzo e per il tipo di struttura ci aspettavamo di trovare il massimo dei servizi e della qualità. Inoltre i teli per il mare erano totalmente consumati e macchiati. Veniamo al turno della receptionist: abbiamo chiesto il noleggio di un motorino per poterci spostare sull’isola. La ragazza, apparentemente gentile e disponibile, ci ha chiesto la bellezza di 400 BHT giornalieri per un modello di motorino con meno potenza e 600 BHT giornaliero per un modello più potente. Peccato che due settimane prima la stessa ragazza ci aveva indicato via mail un prezzo di circa 250/300 BHT (vedi foto allegate). Alla fine abbiamo noleggiato il motorino in centro città a 180 BTH giornalieri. L’hotel è molto rinomato a KOH PHANGAN, probabilmente per la particolarità della struttura. Ma tutto sommato non è un 4 stelle. Il lusso è altro. Questo hotel è accettabile.

Buona posizione e buon personale, utile. Conveniente per esplorare l'isola. Camera pulita e facile controllo. Rimasto qui per qualche giorno per esplorare la zona. Vicino a una bella spiaggia e negozi locali. Rimarrei Buono prezzo e facile da prenotare

La struttura è bellissima ed il paesaggio soprattutto al tramonto è meraviglioso, il letto era comodissimo e la quiete serale era da sogno! Come mi manca.... Due appunti però vanno fatti: 1 solo asciugamano per persona è davvero poco. Ho i capelli lunghi ed uscita dalla doccia non avevo un altro asciugamano per raccoglierli. Purtroppo ho.dimenticato il mio accappatoio a casa pertanto dovevo usare quello della piscina. Ne ho chiesto un secondo ma il giorno seguente non mi è più stato rimesso ed avendomi detto che ne danno solo 1 non ho più chiesto ma era davvero scomodo. Inoltre sostituiranno solo 1 asciugamano ad ospite e l'altro no. Avere l'asciugamano bagnato il giorno dopo non va bene, non mi è mai successo. La piscina quando siamo arrivati era in uno stato pietoso. L'acqua era verde, sporca e disgustosa. Abbiamo aspettato per vedere se qualcuno avrebbe pulito ma il giorno seguente ancora nulla. Abbiamo fatto presente la cosa in reception, hanno dato una semi pulita ma non era ancora a posto. Il terzo giorno finalmente siamo riusciti ad usarla ma su 4 giorni, 2 l'abbiamo solo guardata e non va bene. C'è il mare ma vista la presenza di cubo meduse letali nella stagione delle piogge, non rischio la vita e preferisco la piscina visto che le uniche reti di protezione contro le meduse sono ad haad rin. Non c'è l'enoteca come in foto ma data l'isola abbiamo compreso il perchè. Se avessimo avuto modo di parlare con il proprietario avremo detto tutto di persona ma magari sarà per un'altra volta perché è un posto favoloso e torneremo sicuramente! La colazione non era male ma poca scelta per vegani.

We were here for 4 nights as a couple. Basically we liked our stay very much, but we can not recommend the small bungalows. We stayed in the cheapest bungalow and it was so small that you could not even place the open suitcase. In addition, windows and doors were not tight, so we had many mosquitoes in the room. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was also right above our heads, so we both caught colds. When using the shower, the whole bathroom floods because the drain is at the other end of the room. Also, there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. But otherwise the room was clean and the bed was large and comfortable. We especially liked the hotel grounds. It is really in the middle of the beach, there is soft sand everywhere and the restaurant is also right at the water. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table, both of which we used very often. Special praise must be given to the helpful, friendly hotel staff, who were always eager to make one's stay as comfortable as possible. When we arrived the first evening, our window would not close. There were some communication difficulties with the ladies at the reception because they really didn't understand a word of English. In the following days, however, all the ladies at the reception could speak perfect English, which made communication much easier. Nevertheless, the ladies gave us a new room for one night, which was a great relief. Right next to the hotel is a scooter rental. We rented a scooter here, which was really uncomplicated and cheap. In the area there is very cheap and delicious street food, for example at ”Mama Thai Food” or ”Life Style” with super nice owners. The breakfast in the hotel is delicious and there is a choice of several dishes. However, it is ”a la carte” and you can only order one dish. The portion is a bit small for a grown man, so you would actually have to order 2-3 dishes to get full. Even the most expensive breakfast ”Milky Bay Breakfast” includes only 2 slices of toast, 2 fried eggs, a few mushrooms, 2 slices of tomato and a single piece of bacon (?!). Fortunately, free fruit (pineapple or watermelon) is always offered as well, which helps you get a little fuller. Conclusion: if I had to rate our room exclusively, I would only give the resort 2 out of 5 stars. I've slept in beachfront bungalows in Thailand that cost between 10€-20€ per night and were more comfortable and modern than our bungalow (50€ per night). However, due to the fantastic service, the great facility and the nice staff I give 4 out of 5 stars and the following advice: Don't book the smallest, cheapest bungalow! We saw the better rooms from the outside and they looked really big and modern. If we had stayed in such a room, I would have definitely given 5 out of 5 stars!

Grazie per la disponibilità di questa proprietà durante la stagione di festa della luna piena di aprile 2023. Per una proprietà di fronte alla spiaggia con piscina, trovo le loro tariffe super economiche. Arriviamo al pomeriggio e ci è stato permesso di controllare immediatamente. La nostra stanza era spaziale e venne con una veranda. Il posto potrebbe essere più pulito, ma non ha mai avuto un punto che ci sembrava disturbato. Assicurati che le finestre siano chiuse! La terza notte, abbiamo scoperto che le finestre erano sbloccate dal ricevimento, ma fortunatamente tutti i nostri beni erano intacti. Il resort è a pochi passi dalla festa della luna piena e del Rin Pier, quindi è certamente un enorme plus. Se stai pianificando una festa e hai solo bisogno di un posto decente e conveniente per scappare, allora è questo.

This is my third time staying at Samui mermaid. Can not fault this resort, it’s just what I need to recharge my soul before flying home. I stayed the deluxe side with its own pool and it’s worth spending the extra pennies if you enjoy having a pool all to yourself 😊 Stay are lovely as always, location is brilliant, views are amazing. All n all if you want somewhere to chill out, relax and recharge your soul before flying home then this is the place to stay! I will definitely be coming back again x
