Premetto che stiamo facendo un tour bellissimo organizzato da un operatore locale. Tutto fantastico sino a quando abbiamo messo piede in questo albergo ( che non è assolutamente un 3 stelle) . Puzza alla reception, dove evidentemente dorme qualcuno su un materasso dove ti fanno depositare i bagagli. Dopo una giornata impegnativa, avevamo solo voglia di una doccia calda. Ma purtroppo non c erano asciugamani sufficienti per tre persone e alla richiesta di avere il set minimo (faccia più telo) si è scatenato il circo accompagnato dalla maleducazione. Hanno prima riso in faccia a mio figlio e alla mia richiesta si è presentato in camera un tipo dell hotel maleducato che si è messo a sindacare del perché volessi un set per ciascuna persona. Ha poi sostenuto che l albergo era pieno e quindi che non avevano asciugamani per tutti. Non soddisfatto, è entrato nel mio bagno chiedendo perché non fosse sufficiente un asciugamano da bidet a testa per fare una doccia. Non mi era mai capitato una cosa del genere. Dopo una discussione si è poi convinto( visto che avremo avvisato l operatore) di elargire un asciugamano in più. TV non funzionante ( ma non siamo qui per quello), pulizia discutibile della camera. DA EVITARE

We visited Olantaytambo for 2 days, after 3 in Pisac and before going into Cusco, then doing various treks in the area. The Olantaytambo ruins are excellent to visit as are the granaries on the other side of the valley - a bit of a hike to get up there but with terrific views. Sol Natura was an excellent 3-star hotel with clean rooms, good hot water showers, comfortable common areas, a BEAUTIFUL and serene garden area out the back, and a nice breakfast. A little out of the town centre (5min) and also about 5mins away from the ruins area, it was on the street toward the train station used to get to Machu Picchu. There was a really good restaraunt almost across the street from the hotel where we had 2 great meals. Definitely a recommended spot if spending a few nights in Olay!

Sol Natura is situated halfway up the hill from the railway station to the city square. It has a very friendly and helpful staff. Their gardens are outstanding and make great spots for pictures. The archeological site is very close. Since we were there in the low season, the breakfast was made to order by arrangement according to our schedule on the night before.

My husband and I stayed here as a base for the journey to Machu Picchu. The hotel has a lovely garden - full of Christmas decorations at this time of year - and is in a great location; 5 minutes to the train station, 5 minutes to the central square. Our room was spacious, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating, which made our stay even nicer. If you decide to start your MP journey in Ollantaytambo, we highly recommend - and the breakfast starts at 6 am, which is very convenient for those with an early start!

This hotel is probably the best choice for accommodation when checking out the Sacred Valley and The Machu Picchu. Its location is excellent - it sits between the main square and the train station for Machu Picchu, each is about 5-7 min walk in opposite directions. It was very convenient and safe. My room was overlooking a beautiful garden with mountains in the background. It was clean, quiet, with a clean comfortable bed, had heat and hot water and everything I needed for my stay. The lobby area had a nice tea/coffee area with always-hot water in the dispenser. Breakfast was the most varied in all my travels in Peru. I stayed there for 4 nights and still don't think I tried everything they had to offer. From hot food prepared by a lovely lady in the kitchen to fresh fruit, nuts, avocado, jams and cereals. All with non-ending stream of hot tea and fresh squeezed juices. Separate thanks to an awesome manager that runs the hotel. Very smart, professional, creative, worldly, and welcoming host. Even a gifted piano player! I especially appreciated him sharing his view on life in Peru in general. He makes guests' stays truly special. Thanks so much!

Rather than get up very early to catch a train from Cusco up to Machu Picchu we stayed in this charming hotel walking distance to the train station at Ollantaytambo. The added bonus is that it gives you a chance to acclimatize to altitude as it is lower than Cusco. The main square with many restaurants is again walking distance as are the impressive ruins. The hotel has beautiful gardens and we were lucky enough to have the weather to enjoy them. There were plenty of birds including lovely hummingbirds. Our room was large, quiet and warm with two radiators. My only criticism would be that the bathroom was chilly as it had single glazing but didn’t have a radiator.

I had a wonderful experience at Sol Natura Hotel. Stayed here for 5 days. The hotel is located in a beautiful and convenient area, close to the train station, the main plaza, and the archaeological sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist me with anything I needed. The best experience was a (paid) private tour with the owner through the various places in the sacred valley. It was the best guided tour I had in years. The owner is a former teacher and knows way more about the region, history and country than any of the tour guides I've met. Plus, with him there was no rushing through... The room was clean, comfortable, and with a nice view of the mountains. The breakfast was delicious and varied, with fresh fruits, breads, eggs, and local specialties. The hotel also has a beautiful garden with many plants and flowers, where I enjoyed relaxing and reading after a hiking tour. According to the owner the garden has more than 100 types of plants and flowers, including orchids, roses, lilies and many more which also attracts hummingbirds. In short it’s a hidden oasis. I’d highly recommend staying here a few days instead of Cusco or Aguas Calientes (if you want to visit Machu Picchu). It’s a perfect starting point to explore Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley.

This hotel has a great location to the historic Ollantaytambo site, the town centre and the train station. All are minutes away. The hotel is lovely and light, with a great garden area to relax after a long hike. Breakfast was varied and fresh, staff were attentive and helpful. All in all a well priced hotel stay in a great location.

We stayed here in September. This hotel is wonderful and so are the staff. The garden is beautiful, please find time to sit and enjoy the scenery with the mountains in the background. We had a room facing the gardens. Wi-Fi was excellent. We spent 2 nights here prior to our trip to Machu Picchu. It was a great place to acclimatize, the altitude in Ollantaytambo is lower than in Cusco. We left our bags here while we went to Aguas Calienties. After spending a night in AC, we returned for another night to Sol Natura. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the atrium is a nice place to relax and drink hot tea, which is available all day. Helpful staff when one of us needed our train tickets printed! The train station is a 10-min walk down the street, and the town square is also 10 mins away. The breakfast was excellent! Local grains, cereals, bread, jam, juices, tropical fruits, yoghurt ( we loved the gooseberry or goldenberry flavour – aguaymanto in Peruvian). The ladies in the dining room were so helpful and polite and they made great omelets! Stay in Ollantaytambo - do not make this just a transit stop. This is a beautiful village that made it on Time magazine’s best places to visit in 2023.
