From the Travel Lodge it is a short walk along the side of the road to reach a gate and cattle grid on your left which takes you through to the beginning of a wonderful up hill walk. You can take it gradually and stay at lower levels enjoying the view to the top or you can walk up to the top of the hill for fabulous views. There are sheep and ponies living happily and naturally. Being out in the country is so wonderful and therapeutic. Enjoy!

AS others have said that car park is littered with potholes, however the staff more than make up for that issue, super friendly staff it does need a refurb but perfect for a short stay

Outward appearance is poor and carpark needs resurfacing, but things get better. Staff were excellant and room was clean and comfortable, and nice and quite. Got a good nights sleep and shower was OK. Restricted opening to windows was the only ventilation and no air conditioning so not ideal in a heat wave. Tub chairs were suprisingly very comfortable. View of open fields with cows in the morning gets you in a good mood. Happy to use again, but don't expect luxury, just a comfortable place to sleep.

We visited for a wedding last weekend and were pleasantly surprised ! Firstly we greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist who helped us to our room with heavy bags. The room was twice the size we were expecting was well aired and spotless. Bed was comfortable too! Advertised as a budget hotel but honestly, the staff here were all so amazing that’s worth an extra few stars 🤩 Perfect for a base or for visiting friends nearby.

Terribly hot room (during a heat wave, so take that into consideration!) with absolutely zero effort made on comfort. Two terrible nights of sleep at this budget(!) £80 per night hotel.

Don’t be put off by the exterior. Inside clean and modern. Large rooms Staff great great value Recommended Bearslake inn for dinner which was great

Really quiet , very clean , staff couldn't be more helpful , basic but fab for overnight stop, maybe put nets in downstairs rooms as very open ,Def repeat stay

Welcomed by a lovely, kind lady called Sarah. She was so smiley, a breath of fresh air after a 6 hour journey. The hotel is nice and tidy, the housekeepers did an amazing job in our rooms, smelled lovely, clean and the bed was so comfy, had 2 amazing nights sleep, so quiet and well worth a visit. Thank you to all that made it home from home. Will 100% be coming back. Thanks again sarah, my mum also said how lovely you are. You are a credit to travelodge !!!!
