A very bad experience with the Paradise Booking office on the Baraka Beach bungalow in Nungwi (between the Baraka and the Mamamia). An agency bordering on a scam, which I strongly advise against. On 03 July 2023 I bought an excursion from "Kevin", the official guide of this office. The excursion of my dreams. It consisted in going fishing for a "Tiger fish", a special fish that lives only in Tanzania. First of all, Kevin told me the price was 1,000 dollars (normal, everything is negotiated here). So I negotiate an all-inclusive price of 500 dollars Travel - Hotel - Food - and fishing session) Kevin hadn't warned me that in this region, the locals aren't used to seeing "white people" and that all the women are completely covered up... I found myself in a tank top and fishing shorts, oppressed by the stares of people who were totally out of place... After a 14:00 journey by local bus in disastrous conditions and with hunger in our stomachs, we finally arrived at a dirty lodge with no electricity, no hot water and poisonous spiders bigger than a pack of cigarettes! The next day, Kevin takes me on a motorcycle (with 3 of us on it and no protection) through the sand and rocks, along the river where the fishing guides are supposed to be... It was after a 50-minute wait, encounters with various monkeys and a crocodile that came running with its mouth open in my direction, that a small wooden boat finally arrived with 2 men in it... one was holding a fishing net and the other an oar. I told them that Tiger fisch could never be fished like that... !!! Looking surprised, the two men fetched a "fishing rod" ... A Pole and a wire choker !!!!!! To "fish" between the water lilies... after pulling out of the water 3 small catfish measuring 4cm each we finally returned to the shore and the session was over!!!! We took the local bus back home But we couldn't catch the last ferry... We had to spend the night in another hotel. Looking for Kevin, I learned from the reception that Kevin had left without telling me to go and eat on his own, then came knocking at my door again (since the hotel reception had informed him that I was looking for him). So I didn't eat that night either... The next day we took the ferry and finally arrived in Nungwi at 16:00... When we arrived, Kevin asked me for another 100 dollars for expenses .... So I spent 600 dollars on a cheaply organized trip, in disastrous and dangerous conditions, and on an activity I didn't do.... I explained that I didn't agree and that I wasn't happy, and Kevin, with a smile on his face, replied "forget it". I therefore strongly advise against this office! PARADISE in Nungwi (Zanzibar)
