Judy House Cottages and Rooms

Judy House was a fun, friendly, and affordable place to stay in Negril. Located off of Westland Mountain Road, it is approximately a 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurant and beach (Canoe Bar). It is approximately a 15-20 minute walk, or a very short taxi ride to the lively nightlife of the West End, or the nearest bank and shopping center. Our room was clean, comfortable, and private. We even had a small fenced-in garden of our own, with two loungers, and a dining table, which we found very luxurious and charming. Most nights, we would walk over to the backpackers hostel area to socialize with other guests, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. We appreciated that Sue helped us organize transportation on our first night. We recommend that guest pack a flashlight, as the grounds, while well lit, are a little rugged, and it takes some time to get used to the walking paths. Unfortunately, water is scarce in Jamaica. Be prepared for very short showers and other water conservation methods. We didn't mind as we try to be eco-conscious in our daily lives, but we did find ourselves running out of water occasionally. It was a good learning experience for us!

Friendly, comfortable and very reasonable. Location gives you more of a sense of non tourist Jamaica staff are wonderful, place is kept clean and tidy, place to meet other travelers from around the world. All ages

Stayed at the Negril side property, had a fantastic stay. Basic room, 2 kitchens and bathrooms. Beautiful garden with lots of space, little paradise including hammocks to chill. Great staff and meeting people is easy. There is a small beach at the bottom of the road. But also good to take a route taxi wherever u want to go. SUE is super helpful. First class host

Stayed with some friends while on road trip, loved it so much. From the friendly staff and other people staying, to the kitchen and bar that are always open, felt like a super welcoming and comfy place. It is also super close to 7 mile beach + Ricks cafe, alongside other small gems you will come across. Coming back to Jamaica I would love to stay with more friends.

Nice and cozy Hostel away from all the resorts! It’s an own space with a good neighborhood. You have your own space, but the people around always open for a nice talk. The people who are working there are also very nice! Can only recommend to stay here!

I love the cabins and setting. The gardens are wonderful. Our cabin had everything we needed, staff were so nice and we met some other travelers. Quick walk to the coast with some cool places to walk to in an area that is a bit more lower key then right at 7 mile beach. When we continued walking we hit central negril (shopping etc) in about 15 minutes and could then walk onto 7 mile beach for as long as we wanted. If in the area I will definitely stay at Judy House.

I absolutely LOVED Judy house, the atmosphere is so welcoming, happy and safe, 💙 I love the wildlife and the beautiful beaches close by!! I cried when It was time to leave as it was just so amazing and beautiful I couldn’t believe it💙 Thankyou to all the staff!! I will most definitely be coming back

I had an awesome experience and met all kinds of great people at the hostel as well as locals, snowbirds and other travellers. Shout out to the taxi drivers in cars and on motorbikes! You added a touch of the island I hadn't foreseen and made the logistics a breeze. Judy House is a well located welcoming place to end and start your days in Negril. I am very grateful for the wonderful staff; Isme (and sista!), Lisa, Merkel, Sed and the nice little gardener who's name slips my mind. I miss you all! Thanks for everything!

Infact it was around this time last year, I spent a week in Judy House. As I'm familiar with the area,having relatives living locally,it's the perfect spot,for access to the West end,the beach and the town center. Very calm and relaxing environment,with fantastic staff and management,that provide the right mix of attention and hospitality. Special mention of MarTel, really cool guy,who is always ready to be of assistance. You will be well catered for. The amenities and layout of the premises are fantastic and all together make for a great place to stay. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to experience the communal vibe of NEGRIL. The proprietor SUE has prerty much nailed it for the seasoned traveler,that knows and appreciates good value for money. Next trip I'll be trying out the next spot further round the west end,which is just an amazing,well put together accommodation that has to be experienced, if you love that REAL authentic Jamaican vibe !
