Xye Resort

We stayed at XYE Resort January 22, 2023 for 39 days. This is our favorite home away from home. We have stayed here for 10+ years even before it was XYE. If you’re expecting a 5 star resort for a 3-4 star price you might be disappointed. However, you will get a clean room with AC and fan, a small refrigerator, a safe for valuables, a TV and private bathroom. A comfortable bed and most of all a short 2 mins walk to the beach. The staff are friendly and there is a security guard present. We love the garden rooms with their small balconies. These are small duplexes and you will share the balcony with the other room. Our entertainment is sitting on our balcony and greeting the occasional people walking thru the lane to the beach in the morning, while having coffee and listening to roosters crowing. In the evening we enjoy listening to tree frogs and visiting with friends and listening to our own music. And of course most of all walking to The beach without having to cross a road. Going for a swim or just walking up and down the beach. There are beach chairs you can sit in under a sea grape tree or pull it out into the sun and look out at the Chrystal blue sea and people passing by on the beach. The restaurant and bar has good food and drinks. We like to eat there sometimes but also like walking the beach to other venues nearby or down the beach for food and drinks. There are only approximately 15 rooms so your beach isn’t crowded and it’s quiet and relaxing. But once while we were there, a very loud music party next door at Chances Pizza. Good news it was only for 1 night. The new Hilo grocery store is a 10 minute walk from XYE and there is a cambio if needed in the pharmacy and a bank there has an ATM. Plus there are shops and restaurants nearby. XYE is not for everyone. If you want simple clean accommodations without a lot of people and be right on the beach and don’t mind a small room, this is the place. We have already booked for next year. ❤️

If you’re visiting Negril stay at this resort! The location is great! Direct access to the gorgeous seven miles beach, with loads of bars and restaurants at walking distance. It is in the middle of a lively beach, where you can find live music and entertainment, but that isn’t loud or annoying in any way. Not a party scene at all, quiet and relaxing, but that also provides easy access to a more lively evening if desired. The beach is considered one of the most beautiful in Jamaica. The cottages are very clean, comfortable and functional. The receptionist and the staff in general are some of the nicest, friendliest, most welcoming and helpful people I have ever met. I really struggled to leave, I’ll be going back as soon as possible!

Worst place I've ever stayed: The website advertised it as a bed and breakfast, complimentary continental breakfast with every toom. Not true- we had to pay. Website said kettle and cooking utensils in every room - not true. When we arrived we had no cold water, so no showers, toilet flush or ways to clean our teeth - it took 18 hours before we could flush the toilet. There was no complimentary soap or shower gels in the room - we had to request it. My daughter's room had no pillow cases or towels - again we had to ask for this. Wifi is only available in the bar or reception area - there is no WiFi in the bedrooms. The sign for Xye, on the website and on the beach outside the property offers breakfast from 7am-11am, but the cook doesn't even come to work until after 9am so breakfast, which you have to pay for, isn't served until after 10.30. The manager acts like he really doesn't want to be there. Website says there's blackout curtains in every room - there isn't. As I said, it was a terrible experience

Das Restaurant macht einen gepflegten Eindruck und ist schön direkt am Strand. Das Frühstück ist gut, große Portionen (Jamaika Breakfast) zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Der Service ist ebenfalls sehr gut.
