Medusa Beach Resort & Suites

Our second time to thoroughly enjoy Medusa Beach Resort & Suites. Staff throughout were, once more, lovely and made our four night stay enjoyable. As with our first visit, we chose the spacious Executive Suite which does involve internal stairs from the living to the bed and bath rooms as well as to the second story hot tub. The Executive Suite also involves walking a short distance to dining, the pool, tiki bar and beach. NBD as we enjoyed the privacy and solitude. Ground transport re air and water ports was arranged through Medusa as we chose to relax and renew without the need to leave the property. We look forward to our third time at Medusa Beach Resort & Suites.

We loved this resort! The room was updated and clean, food was very good, the beach was fantastic, and the staff was nothing short of amazing. Kiki made some of the best freddo espresso we had on Naxos. Elli and Daniel at the front desk were extremely prompt and helpful. The entire staff was awesome. The beach has a great sunset over Paros. The resort is about 20 minutes from town but it is very nice and quiet. If we make it back to Naxos we will 100% stay here again.

This hotel, a little off the beaten path on a quieter stretch of beach, was perfect for our family. The pool and bar, the beach, the breakfast, the cats—we loved all of it. The staff was wonderful, so kind and accommodating. We needed adjoining rooms for our family of 5 (three kids) and were able to do so in two seaview double rooms (with an added cot) near the back of the property. The rooms didn’t connect but the doors were right next to one another and ours (401 and 402) were the only rooms on that level. The patios were spacious and comfortable with beautiful views of the sea through the trees. The only negative for me was that the mattresses were hard, but others did not complain. You definitely want a car if you stay here, not only to visit different restaurants but also to explore the island as there is so much to see and do. Highly recommend the nearby kite surfing beach, Mikri Vigla, Alyko beach and the abandoned hotel ruins that are covered in the most amazing murals and graffiti, and driving into the mountains and stopping in one of the villages. We also hiked part way up Mt.Zas to see Zeus’s childhood cave. None of these destinations took us more than 30 minutes from Medusa. There were many laid back restaurants just a 5-10 minute drive away (or you could walk up the beach ~20 min), so you didn’t need to go into Chora unless you wanted more action. We absolutely loved our stay, just wish it could have been longer!

Relaxation and clarification of thought if one is not bothered by tiny potato flies, mozzies, Meltemi wind or a lack of staff. Hidden because it is at the far end of Plaka beach and approached via a dirt track in the forest, Be careful because a taxi ride back to Chora is 35 euros one way. Delightful, well appointed buildings. Expertly run by Eli ( manager) and Moses ( waiter ) but both deservedly needing back up assistance. The chef is top notch with faultless cuisine. Breakfast was good but needed an island unit because to serve from the kitchen snd then expect 2 waiters to go backwards and forwards 50 ms each time with your order was stretching ones patience. Exceptional tropical gardens that go straight down to the sea, bar and pool. The pool is sea water, cleaned daily. So, despite all the little things, we really relaxed and chilled for 10 days.

On Arriving at this establishment the initial experience was outstanding with a great coastal location. We had booked 2 rooms, 1 was a sea view room, the other set back. A table was booked for the evening inside with pleasant surroundings. It wasn't until we started to order things fell apart. The starters were garlic mushrooms and one of anchovies. A staff member eventually returned with 2 garlic mushrooms and 1 Anchovies, with a spare plate and also a comment of you will have to share the mushrooms between the 3 of you as we have run out. Are you not supposed to ask the customer to select an alternative before serving or am I missing something? The anchovies of six or seven was a staggering 9 euro's. On placing the mains order to then be told all the seafood or Rib eye steak was not available we are closing down soon. After finishing the meal we put the bill on the Room as we were booked for 3 nights, but as we left to retire to our room's the woman at reception rushed out in front of us demanding we paid up immediately in an extremely aggressive manor. We then commented what the service and lack of items on the menu consisted of but did not refuse to pay the bill. The staff at reception ramped up the aggression, and at one point tried to grab my phone accusing me of filming them, when I was clearly browsing on a booking site and she didn't think to apologize. The Manager then turned up in his car and asked why we had a problem. He kept accusing us of refusing to pay which was not the truth, also accused us of being drunk which clearly was not the case. On returning to our room's destroyed by the unbelievable aggression for no reason. Minutes after returning to the room the police arrived after being called by the staff and management. The police minutes after drove away as they realised they had been called out unnecessarily. To summarize I would say this was my worst experience on the Cyclades islands, and we have been on the Greek islands for the last 24 years. A poor reflection of the otherwise fantastic Greek friends we know and love so much.This is a poor overpriced, tired excuse of a luxury Hotel with the worst customer experience level. The following morning we paid for rooms, and meal, cutting 2 days off our original booking.

As mentioned by several others, the grounds are beautiful, and you are on the beach. The staff is very gracious, and the beach bar and cocktails are very nice, these are the pros. The cons are, it is a $30-$40 taxi ride from anything (due tio a half mile very rustic road) . Driving a rental car in Greece is questionable. Narrow streets, lots of motorcycles , lots of pedestrians and twisty, narrow roads. Without a car, you are fairly trapped at this resort. The restaurant was good, but not great. I was traveling with my mom, who has difficulty with stairs. When we requested a downstairs room our price went up $150 per night. The resort was half empty, so this was really just taking advantage of a disability. There were also many hornets which made outdoor dining a challenge. The grounds were very pretty, but I would be hesitant to stay here again.
