I stayed over five weeks at this hotel and would have given a higher rating, but my experience was ruined by being scammed by a staff member who took money under false pretenses. As I am from the UK, I had already left Tamil Nadu. My money was not returned as promised (thousands of rupees) & the culprit blocked my phone number. The police advised returning to Chennai to file an FIR or contacting the staff member's Line manager at Gokulam Park. However, his line manager Mr Krishna Kumar (front desk manager) was rude and dismissive, showing no intention to assist or even prepared to speak to the guy responsible. Shockingly, the hotel allowed the dishonest staff member to continue working at reception / front desk for several more months interacting with guests, despite knowing about the fraud. The concerned staff member (Ajay) left his job a few weeks ago only after I started informing more people. I have written twice to the GM, Mr. Anand Ramachandran, informing him and requesting Mr Ajay's contact details. I waited before reviewing. Disappointingly both my emails have been ignored. It is appalling that a reputable hotel retain individuals who scam guests and fail to take responsibility for such incidents. As a hardworking female I will not tolerate anyone stealing from me. The hotel turned a blind eye. Despite your silence Gokulam Park, I will return to India to recover my money from the swindler! As a foreigner I feel let down by the hotel which I considered home like & stayed more than one month at! Edit the restaurant and house keeping staff were super!
