We love to travel, this was our first experience staying at Sonders. What we liked: The website was very easy. The contactless check in. The help through texting. The price. What we didn’t like: Lack of maintenance and thought on the properties. Here’s what happened: We checked in no problem. We were tired and just wanted to take showers, unpack and go to bed. Our next day would be very busy. However the bathroom sink was not draining when we used it, it would just keep filling up with more water each time. I chatted online with an agent who was very helpful and said they would send someone over to fix it, and if it couldn’t be fixed they would move us. Ok great, we understand these things happen. We didn’t take showers or even unpack, we just sat on the bed and waited. After an hour and a half of waiting, I contacted an agent online again. (All online agents were very pleasant) After explaining my situation again, they tried to contact someone in my area and said that it was too late for someone to come out. (That was hard to hear after waiting for so long expecting someone to be there any minute.) But we were ok with moving so she got us a place in the same complex to move to. I asked if we would be able to move there for the TWO nights that we had booked and she said no, we would have to move back in the next day after they fixed the sink. We could not move the next day because we had a full day planned from morning until night, that was the reason why we booked two nights. Ok so she found another place for us in the same complex where we could stay the two nights. We moved all of our things there and started to unpack until we saw green mold going up two different walls in the bathroom. (See pictures) So there was no way we could stay there. I said just move us back to the original place and we’ll just not use the bathroom sink. She found another place for us though inside the complex. It was smaller but acceptable. We moved everything into it. And then noticed you could not open the big blind, it was broken, so no sunlight in the room, and the refrigerator made loud noises at random intervals that kept us up at night. Now we are 3 hours into when we first arrived and still hadn’t taken showers so we were not going to move again. We just dealt with it and endured our stay instead of enjoying our stay. Then we noticed that the sink in THIS bathroom also did not drain properly but was better than the first one. We really liked the first apartment that we were in, it was bigger than the others and nicer but I will say that as we were waiting for the hour and a half for someone to fix the sink, we could not believe how LOUD it was, (my husband took a video of the noise level it was so loud it was comical) He went outside to check and noticed that our apartment was under outside steps where people were going up and down often.
