Nikos Rooms

We were travelling home from Mykanos on Staff travel standby and by reasons only known by Mykanos airport would not allow us through security until they can give us an actual seat, a long story, anyway, as a result, we turned to good old Airbnb and there he was, excellent prices, just around the corner and he has a pool! A totally unplanned and unexpected delight…after a frustrating afternoon! His place was just perfect for our situation but turned into a very warm welcome, made to feel like family almost, a lovely friendly Nikos, his rooms are clean and decorated with thought and everything you would need for a shower after a somewhat warm night's sleep, but we did not work out the air conditioner, so own own fault. Comfy beds too, typical cycladic shower, perfect when you are both tall and broad as we are. Just one point to note, if you really rate your cup of tea first thing, bring your travel kettle 😉 I went to the supermarket literally 5 mins down the road, 10 back with shopping if you are the wrong side of 50 haha, and bought tea, milk and sugar…in the morning I gave it to Nikos, which he appreciated of course, and added them to his collection, on the fridge in his small office!! We laughed 👍 For a few euros less than the taxi, Nikos dropped us to the airport for some deja vu, whilst we got to know a little about his family as he drove….what a good, honest, decent man, we thank you and would not hesitate in coming again 🇬🇷💙😎

We went to Greece at the beginning of October. We were ferrying from Santorini to Mykonos and the ferry was delayed. Before arriving in Greece we had discussed with "Nikos" to have a shuttle from the port to the hotel. However, with the delay, he was not there when we arrived. We were able to find another shuttle to the hotel. Then there was no one around to talk to. He knew we were coming that day but we had no way of contacting him as we did not get an international calling plan and he was not answering our emails. A nice couple let us borrow their cell phone to contact him and he came to meet us 10 minutes later (it was already 7:00 pm). When he got there, he said that he waited at the port all day for us and it was a waste of his time. So he was upset. We explained that we cannot change the ferry schedule and it should have displayed the change in times at the port. We told him what ferry we were taking so he should have been able to track it. None the less, we he took us to a room. He said I left the key in case you guys got in super late so the room was just unlocked. We walked in and the room was quite small. He told us the wifi password and that he would be back tomorrow and left (the property, not just the room). We walked into the room, set our bags on the bed and my husband walked into the bathroom. There was mold all round the shower and taps. There were bugs crawling in the bathroom so I checked the rest of the room and there were bugs everywhere. We again had no way of contacting "Nikos" so we just left and went to a different hotel. As soon as we had wifi at the other hotel, we emailed our travel agent and she emailed photos and videos to Nikos email and asked for a refund. We booked a non-refundable room, we knew that. However, that does not apply when you physically cannot sleep in the room because there is a health risk. We did not go back the next day to talk to him because we had tours booked that took up the whole time he had office hours. All around poor experience and I do not recommend it. It also does not look like the pictures. The pool is much more run down and the property is not maintained well. Not a pool I would want to sit beside on holidays.

Άνετα και ευρύχωρα δωμάτια με όλα τα comfort. Τα δωμάτια βρίσκονται σε πολύ καλό σημείο, μπορείς να πας στο κέντρο με τα πόδια ή πολύ εύκολα και με λεωφορείο. Ο κύριος Νίκος πολύ φιλόξενος, ευγενικός και εξυπηρετικός κάνει τα πάντα για να κάνει την διαμονή πιο ευχάριστη και εύκολη. Προσφέρει μεγάλη βοήθεια για την μεταφορά από και προς το αεροδρόμιο. Το συγκρότημα προσφέρει χώρους όπου μπορείς να χαλαρώσεις και να ξεκουραστείς. Πολύ καθαρό. Άνετα θα ερχόμασταν ξανά για να μείνουμε πάλι στο ίδιο μέρος.
