Courtwood Inn

We had a brief but lovely stay at CourtWood Inn while in Murphys for a concert. Chris and Larry are superb hosts - giving helpful tips about navigating the concert venue, providing a very comfortable stay and serving an absolutely delicious breakfast. The room (Australia) was great: great bed, roomy and well-equipped bathroom and really nice outdoor space with a view to the valley. When Ironwood Vineyards puts on a concert (with almost 7K attending!), cute little Murphys is bursting with people, so although we love staying "in town" it was really nice to be a very short (1.5 miles) way out of the hustle bustle.

This B&B is amazing up on top of a hill where you can see for miles. Log cabin look and feel… beautiful place and our room Was wonderful. Breakfast was as served on the outside deck in the morning. Glorious!! 2 full regulation size tennis courts available for use.

Beautiful accommodations with amazing views from our private balcony Hosts were the most accommodating, friendly and welcoming people Our stay included a gourmet breakfast, local wine, cheese and crackers each evening and warm cookies before retiring to our room ! Tennis courts are exceptional if you play … we loved Murphys - a quaint gold rush town w amazing restaurants and wine tasting opportunities. We highly recommend this place to stay

Wow, just Wow! The Courtwood Inn is located up in the hills a short drive from downtown Murphy's. Set off by itself with stunning views over the hills, it is peaceful and quiet. The log home is perfect for the setting. We parked and buzzed to get in to check-in late afternoon. Larry and Chris were so friendly and welcoming. They checked us in, showed us around the common areas and breakfast room then took us downstairs to our room, which is just off a game room with a ping pong table. The house is like stepping into a mountain log home. The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace and comfy furniture to cozy into with a good book. The wrap around deck off the living room has tables and chairs with boundless views. The wine bar off the entry is where you will find your cheese and crackers and glass of wine from the local area in the late afternoon. The breakfast room is cozy and comfortable. Going downstairs to our room, we were in the Australian Open room, just off a larger game room with a ping pong table. Our room was so cozy and comfortable. We had a small living area with a sofa and coffee table. The bedroom had a comfy bed with a TV and sliding doors out to the lower patio. There were stunning views from the patio and a table with four chairs. Our bathroom was large with a large vanity and double sinks and a fabulous shower. We settled in, sat out on the deck upstairs to enjoy our wine, views and cheese and crackers. Our one night stay was during the week and there was only one other couple at the inn who were so nice and we enjoyed a visit with them over a delicious breakfast the next morning. We so wished we had more nights at this inn. Everything was first class and again Larry and Chris are the perfect owners for an inn. They cooked breakfast themselves and it was incredible. We didn't even need lunch. Both Larry and Chris are tennis Phanatic's, and there are tennis courts at the inn. I believe they both may have played professionally and you can get lessons with Larry if you schedule them before your stay. Note: As we were leaving and visiting with Larry and Chris, we told them we will be back as Murphy's is such a cool town in the Gold Country and the inn is the best. Larry said well with that being said, Chris and I have decided to retire and he handed me a flyer from the real estate company along with a letter from he and Chris advising guests of their retirement. However, until it sells they will be running the inn. So, do yourself a favor and run to stay at the inn before we may no longer have that option. Thank you Larry and Chris, although our stay was short, we loved every minute and enjoyed meeting and visiting with you both.

We booked the Wimbledon Suite last minute for the weekend when our original hotel had a water main break and we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!! Their spot on top of the hill is so serene with views down to the valley, but still only a 5 minute drive from Main Street Murphys. The rooms are so spacious, the beds are comfortable with GOOD SHEETS and the hydrotherapy tubs are to die for! Chris and Larry are the nicest hosts and you can just feel that you’re in their dream Bed n Breakfast. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay on the rainy, stormy weekend - it felt cozy and luxurious all at once. We loved the breakfast and all the nice touches (fresh cookies!) and we will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful weekend at Courtwood! The accommodations were top notch. A beautiful log cabin with all the modern touches. The afternoon sunsets on the deck with a complimentary glass of wine, really set it apart from other lodges. Our hosts Chris and Larry were amazing!
