My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and 7 days. First things first, I want to pacify any fears you may have about booking this resort. If you've seen any negative reviews about the food, the resort grounds, or the rooms they are grossly exaggerated. The positives: The beach: The grounds, including the private beach area, are routinely and daily manicured. The food: To give you the true luxury experience, nothing at this resort is buffet style, everything is a la carte and with varying options, is tasty. There's a daily variety of themed dining options and if you'd like, there's also the traditional Jamaican options. The staff: Specifically, the servers are the crown jewels! We've traveled across the Caribbean to a plethora of resorts and bar none, this resort has the BEST customer service from the serving staff. The BEST customer service, the repetition is not a typo. Their motto is "Welcome home" and you certainly feel like that's exactly where you are. Think and recollect your fondest experience from your favorite holiday experience with a loved one, the servers here have found a way to bottle and recreate that magic. I want to give a special shout-out to the following staff: Kemoy & Kenneisha who made our experience exemplary, if excellence had a description in the dictionary, it would be and should feature a photo of these two young ladies. Chantel - a breath of fresh air for our afternoon lunches. Kimberly whose humor brought exuberance to our nighttime dinners. The room: We got the room upgrade and got the Jacuzzi on the balcony. The room was a decent size with a large shower and a separate toilet room. To our surprise, the maid service described on the website is accurate, it does occur two to three times per day. The negatives: Only one, the many facets of the disappointment with the "butler" service. Having stayed at many resorts that offer this service, the butler service offered here was glaringly below average. Our butler experience can be summarized in two words, inconsistent and lackluster. Here are the things that are supposed to be offered with the Butler service at the Zoetry: 1) A tour of the resort 2) A daily delivery of wine and fresh fruit - scheduled by the guest and routinely delivered based on the initial request. 3) A daily preview of the night's dining options 4) Information regarding departure from the resort to visit local markets Here's what happened: 1) We weren't offered or given a resort tour. 2) Over our entire stay while we had scheduled the times we required the delivery, wine and fresh fruit were only delivered thrice, and only at our insistence. 3) Outside of the morning and occasional departure texts, we didn't hear from our butler for the remainder of each day of our trip. We also only received the nightly menu options twice (instead of daily) and sporadically throughout our stay. 4) Trips to the local market were offered at USD $100 roundtrip, an absolute rip-off, and no other hotel op

If you are looking an intimate and relaxing get away. This is the resort for you. From the moment we pulled up to the property I could tell it was safe. The front desk staff were very accommodating. We had drinks and apps at the cafe before dipping in the pool. Drinks and food were on point. Hillary, Latoya and Kemar were very personable and illustrated excellent customer service. The manager on duty (Zeph) was so attentive. Overall, this resort fullfilled all wants and needs. We will definitely return for a leisure trip.

When we checked in they said “welcome home” I was like huh? I now know why they say that. After going around the island seeing where everyone else is staying all the resorts are much bigger than zoetry. Poetry is just very home like and cozy. We want to come back in the next year or so and bring our family!

The resort had nice large rooms, nice ambience, some great views and a beautiful beach. Service was very slow and many items on menu not available. Butler service was pitiful. Mattresses seem quite old as well.

I would firstly like to thank the general manager and his deputy for doing their utmost to ensure my stay was ok when I raised a number of concerns directly with them. That said, my overall experience was less than satisfactory which should have not been the case when paying to stay at a 5 star resort. Overall most of the staff appear clueless in terms of good customer service or care, not enough authenticity in terms of jamaican food; I had to ask them to buy Baileys as this was not available, you had to wait for beach towels advising they were being washed); depending on who your butler was, there was inconsistency with the service provided. I travel to Jamaica yearly and for me this is the worst resort I have stayed. The managers are aware of what appears to be endemic issues and have their work cut out for them if they want what is a relaxing resort live up to its 5 star rating.

Zoetry by Hyatt promotes “life’s pleasures with the highest level of personal service”. Here at Zoetry Montego Bay I witnessed 1- an Older female guest go search for a towel 8 minutes before the yoga class as there were not any clean towels in the entire pool area. 2- Another older gentleman set up his poolside mats and covers on his two poolside chairs as the pool attendant was also nowhere to be found. 3- A young Female guest had to struggle to open a champagne bottle at the breakfast champagne station and then bring the cork components and empty bottle to the nearby bar as no one came to assist her. Having your butler or bar staff open your bottle of champagne is one of those endless privileges that I thought I would also experience here as I have at other similar resorts but did not. Our butler came to us poolside where an unopened bottle of champagne and two glasses were waiting. He commented on the bottle being there. But did not think to open it. If he had he would have received a tip. Each of these examples above is a simple “endless privilege” that normally comes with a butler and hotel staff whose hotel markets “Unparalleled personal service” on it’s website. “With Endless Privileges everything is included with our compliments for your stay” the website says. We asked for 2 robes for our room for almost 48hours before receiving them. Maid service three times daily the website says. Did I mention yet that we go on vacation with at least 500$ in singles and fives. No one waits on us and does not get tipped. Ever. No service goes unappreciated. I don’t care that it is all inclusive or not. And once the staff at a resort knows we tip they tend to swarm. Not here. We did not meet our butler until day 3. “Endless Dining and Drinks” the website says: The unlimited top shelf liquor is not true as each day after ordering more than 2 drinks with grey goose we would return to hear there was no more grey goose. 3 days in a row. The website mentions A La Carte options 24x7 This is also not true. I asked if a chicken curry dish could be changed to a shrimp dish instead. I was told they would have to check. The “shrimp dish” came with not one whole shrimp on the plate. The shrimp cerviche came without even one shrimp and the tomato caprese came without even one piece of Mozzarella. We ordered room service at 1045am and did not receive it until after 1pm. We were told the kitchen had just opened. “Organic, locally sourced ingredients, are filled with spice and color and tailor-made to your preferences.”the website says. This is not true either as it took our complaining to the manager to finally see some soursop and Jamaican apple mixed in with the typical fruits that you can find in every grocery store in America. And the callilou (which is a Jamaica substitute for spinach was out of stock from Sunday through Wednesday as were all green vegetables. I am a vegetarian! We went for our honeymoon/anniversary. The atmosphere was so welcoming upon arriving. They greeted us with a clean, cold towel for our faces + necks, offered us drinks. We got checked in and booked excursions in the lobby. They carried our luggage to our room. Our room was so clean, food was so good, close to the highway, but not super loud. It was so beautiful and relaxing. Supper menu changed every night, along with entertainment. The only thing we didn’t like was how limited the beach area was.
