Buccleuch Arms Hotel

We had a lovely stay and are happy to recommend this hotel. Very characterful victorian hotel with modern bathroom. We loved the map room. Drying room for bikers and walkers gear very handy. The food was really good and the service excellent. The staff went the extra mile to help with driving routes and walking routes including printing off maps which was typical of their friendly helpful attitude. Moffat town was nicely old fashioned with it's high street shopping. The countryside is beautiful with hills, lochs and winding roads. Mostly empty of traffic. Really should be on your bucket list. Car parking is in the high street but free of charge and we had no trouble parking. Bike garages available.

Arrived at the hotel with my husband. We traveled on our motor bike and rented a bike shed to put the bike away. These are spacious and keeps the bike dry. We stayed for 3 nights. Dave, Clint, Lara, Polly and his workforce are so lovely. Very helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and a varied menu for meat eaters, vegetarian and vegan palates. Moffat and surrounding area is fantastic. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff spotless rooms and excellent food i'll definitely be back. Excellent base for motorcycles, secure parking, knowledgeable owner who will provide routes and advice. Valeting kit available for your bike, kit drying room and second hand bike gear available. .

Really enjoying my stay at this family run hotel. Ideally placed in the centre of Moffat, clean & comfortable. They have a stated aim of ensuring you get a comfortable stay One amazing aspect: each night you stay, you get a lottery ticket that gives you a share in a syndicate of people staying that night. If the win is over £1000 it pays you a small percentage. If the win is less than £1000, the money is given to local charities.

All too often you book a hotel and have certain expectations after reading the reviews and unfortunately, all too often the hotel doesn’t meet your expectations for some reason - well, all I can say is that The Buccleuch was far better than I expected it to be! To say this place is biker friendly is a total understatement, secure off street parking with mini garages available if requested, washing facilities for your bike together with any polishes and maintenance fluidsyou may need including a calibrated tyre pump. The food, both in the evenings and the breakfast is outstanding and all the staff go out of their way to make you welcome - everyone works together like a well oiled machine to make sure you have the best experience possible. There is plenty of choice of real ales etc at the bar which I made sure I tried a few pints but as I was only there for one night didn’t get chance to try any of the 50 or so single malts - I’ll save that for next time! Great stay, I can’t wait to go back and many thanks again to Dave, Clint and the team for looking after me.

The family who run this hotel go to extraordinary lengths to make their guests feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable, clean and provide everything you might need. The food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Ours was an overnight stay but we will definitely be returning.

Lovely room, clean and bright. Everything I needed. Location really good as you are in the town of Moffat. Free parking. Lively, good atmosphere. Didn’t end in a cupboard style doom, which is the normal for solo traveler. I didn’t eat at the hotel only due to my arrival time. Good value, would stay there again

The best biker-friendly hotel in Scotland. Great food (evening meal and breakfast), nice rooms, the best hosts and safe parking. Already booked for next year and can't wait. Would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent biker friendly stay. Bike had its own garage inside a secure courtyard. Booking in very easy, the room was superb and well appointed. Supper was amazing as was brwakfast. To me most importantly, very friendly and helpful hosts. Had a very slight isdue with the bike and mentioned this, tool kit was out and all sorted. Would definitely stay again.
