My partner and I booked this place on the long weekend which is one of the busiest times of the year. We understand that there is a policy that we wouldn’t get to have a refund for last minute cancellation. We had a sudden death in the family, and we wanted to see if there was any possibility for refund, credit or change of weekend. Knowing it was the long weekend, we imagine that they’d be able to get a booking if we cancelled. In the midst of any communication, the hotel did not pass condolences, and blamed us for using ******* as the reason we could not get any refund or change of weekend. In the end, they have their right to deny waiving the cancellation fee, which is okay. I just wanted to share that there was no warmth and understanding in any of the interactions I had via phone or correspondence with the hotel. We are sad to say that we will not return to Dolphin Lodge, and we do not recommend this location.
