My partner and I stayed here for four night In early June 24. The hotel is situated about a 30 minute walk from the Medina, which we didn’t mind, but if you wanted a taxi there is a rank on the corner and the hotel staff will hail for you. The area that the hotel is the more modern and touristy part of town, but the hotel is a more like a traditional Riad. I suspect that a purist would say that this is not technically a Riad, but for us this was the perfect boutique option. We don’t like big hotels, but we don’t want to sacrifice too many comforts either. As others have commented the Medina is a mad place, and whilst we loved it, it was nice to come away from it to relax. The hotel is immaculately clean and always smells amazing. There’s a lovely scent as soon as you walk through the front door. There are only 15 rooms and 5 suites, which gives it a very personal feel. The staff could not be friendlier or give you a better service. I thought they got the service level just right - it was very attentive and sophisticated without being pretentious. It was really good example of what modern 5 star service should be. The only criticism I would have would be that it was very difficult to get the attention of the staff when you were around the pool. More often than not, one of us would have to get up to go to the bar, which wasn’t the end of world but was a bit irritating. The pool area itself was very tranquil. You have orange and lemon trees around the pool and climbing flowers up the side of the building. It’s very pretty. One thing I would note is that the pool gets no sun until the afternoon. This didn’t bother us as we did excursions in the Morning but those of you who want to sunbathe all day may struggle.
