White Doe Inn Bed & Breakfast

We were thoroughly impressed with this charming bed and breakfast! Having not stayed at one for years, this was a wonderful treat. David and Tonia are perfect hosts, and we enjoyed engaging in conversation with them, as well as savoring Tonia's incredible breakfast dishes. Our accommodations in the Tower suite were delightful, with a beautifully decorated and spacious room. The happy hour gatherings with other guests was also a highlight, along with the sweet treats and convenient latte machine. Our stay was extremely relaxing, thanks to the comfortable beds, spotless rooms, and outstanding hospitality. Furthermore, the property's proximity to downtown Manteo, with its quaint stores and restaurants, made for a lovely stroll. We wholeheartedly recommend this bed and breakfast for a truly unforgettable experience.

Charming wedding venue for family and friends with 5-star service, start to finish. Dave, Tanya, their staff and vendors delivered a flawless experience for a garden wedding and dinner reception for 30 on Nov. 2nd. This historic beauty of an inn isn't running on auto-pilot. The new owners are dedicated to superior service with a smile and bringing this gem into all its glory! They exceeded every expectation we had for the small wedding experience. If you're thinking about a "beach wedding," I suggest you book White Doe for the best of everything without breaking the bank. Scrape the worry off your plate and let Tanya fill it with homemade foccacia bread, filet mignon or scallops cooked to perfection and delivered to the table with excellent service.

Great location, great house. Everything was fantastic for our stay. Service was top notch, happy hour in the patio was spectacular and breakfast the next morning was as good as any great restaurant. The house is within walking distance to downtown Manteo, including a number of restaurants, shops and pubs.

My wife, adult daughter and son in law stayed 3 nights at the White Doe Inn and had all of our expectations pleasantly exceeded. We knew going in that the B&B was well rated and can confirm the Inn is well deserving of this high rating. We had a very memorable stay. The inn is well managed. Tonia (owner) is very accommodating and friendly, and above all a great chef. All breakfast meals were very good. Her afternoon happy hour snacks were also tasty, as well as the cookies she always has out. The back yard is beautiful and a very relaxing outdoor area to spend time, there are multiple areas to relax either with fellow guests are privately with just your group. The rooms are comfortable (we were up on the 3rd floor). Walking distance to everything Manteo has to offer. The Inn also offers very comfortable cruiser bikes. We didn’t miss having instant access to the beach, we really enjoyed the ability to walk to Manteo breweries, restaurants, wine bars, shopping, lunch spots, etc - we did not miss the traffic of the Outer Banks but were within a very short drive of access the OBX sights. Manteo is a very clean, orderly town and seems more relaxing than the Nags Head/Kitty Hawk area. Only minor glitch during our stay were some smoke detectors going off randomly that were addressed quickly (these did not cause any inconveniences - just part of staying in a historic house with tons of character). I would highly recommend staying at this property - you will get personalized service, a warm welcoming staff, be extremely comfortable and well fed. We will be returning.

We had a wonderful stay at the White Doe Inn. We reserved the Tower Suite and it was very beautiful and cozy. Dave and Tonya Robert’s are the new owners and have great attention to detail and made us feel welcome. Tonya is also the chef and her breakfast selections were fantastic-especially the blueberry pancakes! We will come back often to stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast in Manteo.

Great stay and even better Inn. The White Doe is fantastic .Check in was simple, the host was great, and the food was perfect! Our stay was in the Garden suite on the first floor with private entrance which was great. Staying away from obx itself with a stay in Manteo is great as well.
