Hotel in zona Mannheim-Waldhof, Mannheim

Per la prima volta il positivo: si vive molto centrale, tutto è a piedi raggiungibile. Da fuori è un edificio bellissimo e la possibilità di parcheggio è eccellente. Ma è stato anche. L'elenco delle proprietà negative è lungo. Le camere sono degli anni '80 e sono completamente abitata. Ero sotto il tetto e il calore era insopportabile, l'aria condizionata era difettosa. Con finestra aperta non si poteva dormire a causa del rumore. Non voglio parlare delle lampadine e della distillazione del pavimento del tetto, il cortile di plastica della finestra era stato smontato e la lampada notturna era gia' abbassata in fette. Il bagno con doccia smerigliata e armature con spazzola verde è stato il più puro orrore. Ha avuto due notti a malapena in grado di dormire. Il bar era chiuso a partire dalle 22:00 perché sembra che il personale aveva altro intenzione. Almeno un ospite è stato picchiato completamente insoddisfatto al bar. Conclusione: Non consigliabile! Spero che qualcuno trovi di nuovo la bella casa per il lustro. Sarebbe un peccato se fosse ancora più basso.

Mal ein anderes Hotel Sehr gemütliches Hotel, wie in den 20 oder 30er Jahren eingerichtet. Allerdings muss es einem gefallen. Personal war sehr freundlich, Frühstücken kann man im gesamten Hotel. Zimmer sind auch sehr sauber. Von der BUGA ca. 15 min zum laufen. Parkplätze muss man suchen, aber man kann sie auch im Hotel buchen, wenn man es rechtzeitig macht. Lohnt sich auf jedenfall mal dort zu Übernachten.

Arriviamo all'hotel dopo un lungo giorno di viaggio in prima sera e il ricevitore era molto amichevole, ascoltato e ci ha dato due belle camere con vista sulla città (piuttosto la stazione e le tracce ferroviarie). Le camere erano pulite e avevano servizi come una calda. Quello che davvero ha roccato è il colazione. Una scelta eccellente di freddo e caldo, una bella salada a mano e un muschio di bircher. Come qualcuno che usa le scale piuttosto che l'ascensore per fare qualche passo, ho davvero goduto dei messaggi motivanti su ogni piano della scaletta. Buona idea! Grazie per il nostro denaro. Grazie per questo splendido soggiorno, ritorneremo quando sorgerà l'opportunità.

First off, understand that Ludwigshafen is not a happening place. I was here for business, for which I feel the place would be adequate for a day or two stay, but not the week I was here. I titled this as ”try hard”, as that's what I hear my kids call someone who is tries hard and fails, which I feel fits since the hotel tries really hard to be modern and hip. Moxy is Marriot's new brand aimed at the youth and the copies board games, lockers, random graffiti and whatnot scattered around the lobby would imply they are going that way. Considering most of the time it was filled with old businessmen like me would say they might want to consider having this in a more appropriate location. Moxy Lu is a very spartan hotel. No restaurant to speak of - on Sunday I asked if they had any lunch offerings as nothing is around there and they told me their one and only oven, used to cook breakfast, was broken and wouldn't be working for at least a few hours. There is a very solid Italian restaurant next door but you don't want to eat that every day. There's also right now a Christmas market nearby but the opening timing for it is very variable. It's also next to the Rhine mall but understand that German business hours are earlier than American so it closes early and is closed entirely on Sunday. Rooms are clearly advertised as capsule types and they are very reminiscent of Japanese capsule rooms - a bed, bathroom, a chair, and that's it. A hook on the wall and 4 hangers is all your clothes storage, a 6 inch wide, 2 foot long glass panel sticking out from the wall is your ”desk”, and that's it. No safe, no shelves, no coffee machine, nothing. Definitely not where I wanted to spend a week, but that's not their fault. The hotel is very new and is very clean overall. Also a plus that it is very quiet. I've been in hotels where I could literally hear the person walking around next door. All that said, why 3 stars? Well, as clean as it was, there was a long black hair at eye level in the shower when I first stepped in. As I'm folically challenged, I'm certain it wasn't mine. Secondly, one of the elevators broke multiple times while I was there, once trapping a person in there for 15 minutes while I was in the lobby. He eventually tumbled out, angry, scared, and half-clothed (took off some clothes as he was feeling very hot). Said elevator was not flagged as being out of order for at least an hour after as I was in and out. Eventually it was. It had an out of order sign still on it on my second day despite being in use...assumed this was an error before the guy got caught in front of me. Not good management of an issue, I feel.

Ho soggiornato in questo hotel per due notti, ho chiesto una stanza tranquilla che non guardava la strada, per evitare il rumore, e mi hanno dato una che guardava un patio interno, estremamente tranquillo (le finestre sono anche sonore). La stanza aveva 4 letti. Era abbastanza pulito. Molto pochissimi giardini, se questa stanza fosse occupata da 4 persone. Il bagno aveva abbastanza asciugamani, un sapone liquido eccellente e un asciugacapelli. Nessun shampoo, nessun cappotto da doccia, solo le basi. Buona camicia di duvet. Ci era anche TV via cavo. Quando sono arrivato tardi la notte, ho controllato la macchina automatica senza problemi. Ingressi nella stanza con un codice, quindi non c'è bisogno di gestire le chiavi. La mia unica preoccupazione per l'hotel: la sicurezza. Sono arrivato alle 12 e le due porte di entrata sono state aperte. Nessuno può entrare e salire alle stanze ... Pochi dipendenti nella reception e nella sala colazione. Mi chiedevo se forse fosse un po' troppo costoso, visto che hanno pochi dipendenti e forniscono solo servizi di base, le camere non hanno caldaia elettrica né frigorifero.

Eccellente Express. Parcheggio sotterraneo, hotel moderno e camere molto pulite. Staff gentilissimo e disponibile. Curato nella pulizia specie in questo periodo di difficoltà. Ottima colazione. Davvero consigliato. Vicino alla stazione ferroviaria, facile arrivare

Business hotel dotato di parcheggio interno arredato modernamente. Le camere sono deliziose, il letto comodo con ampia disponibilità di cuscini, minibar, cassaforte, bagno ampio con comoda doccia. Dispongono anche di sala congressi, zona bar, ristorante e il buffet a colazione propone dal dolce al salato alla frutta. Ci tornerei volentieri e lo consiglio vivamente. Forse l'unica nota stonata è che la televisione dispone della scelta di altre lingue e ovviamente l'italiano non è considerato.

We travelled to Ludwigshafen for business and looked for hotels near to the work premises, unfortunately the 'Excelsior Hotel' was first in the list. At only 90 euros a night (including breakfast) it is no doubt a 'budget' option, but it isn't budget in the respect of a Travelodge or Premier Inn, instead it's a lost hotel in a pretty unpleasant area which has been left to decay. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, graffiti-covered walls surround the hotel, and the first impression of the hotel visually is not a positive one, it's hard to even find the way in, amongst scaffolding and concrete jungle. At night, it's a fairly unsafe-feeling area, with people 'hangin around' looking suspicious. The one positive aspect upon booking was the 'Skybar', however digging deeper into reviews, it's clear that it's been closed long before the 'pandemic', infact 4 years ago, and upon arrival we were informed that it's still closed with no future planned. There is no restaurant onsite, nor bar besides a mini-fridge sat on the reception desk with a few bottles of beer available. Upon check-in, I was also asked for my 'date of birth' and home address, which often feels irrelevant, I refused to give such details. Once in the room, via the lift which takes about 5 minutes to arrive and to move, there's no air conditioning which during 32c weather was painful, but fortunately there was a fan. The room size isn't bad at all and the bed was comfortable, but the presentation of the room, as a new guest, wasn't considerate. A pile of electrical extension and cables was next to my bed, not tucked away out of sight. The internet connection was virtually useless in the afternoon/evenings after guests start to utilise it, I resorted to using mobile data instead. There are balconies, but they're just concrete and far from cosy, although the view over the city isn't at all bad. There is no furniture and in addition from a security aspect someone could easily go from their balcony to yours, therefore always be sure to lock and chain the balcony door when not in the room, or at night. At night, you can hear noise from neighbouring rooms, above, below and to the sides, I am also fairly sure that I had 3 'bed-bug' bites from my two night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was included in my 90 euro rate and the breakfast restaurant isn't bad, the service is friendly but the choice is limited, a few cold options and minimal hot options, no bacon or sausages unfortunately. It was a little off-putting to see mouse-traps being laid around the restaurant while I was sat trying to enjoy my meal. While away from the hotel, I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, despite this upon return later that afternoon the cleaner had been into the room and cleaned, this is not acceptable when the message is clearly made that the room should not be disturbed. Overall, were it not for the price, I'd mark this as 'Terrible', but the price has to be considered, although the fu

L'hotel era in aggiornamento, quindi la stanza che abbiamo controllato era nuova e rinfrescata. Il caffè dell'hotel aveva una buona diffusione per colazione. Il personale era molto amichevole e ci ha dato consigli per visitare la zona. Volk era particolarmente utile.
