We’ve stayed here before, it was relaxing and aesthetically pleasing. You can hear traffic etc, but I’m ok with that, it’s the centre of Bahrain. It’s a boutique hotel, supposedly small and sophisticated… well they can delete the sophisticated bit, as it doesn’t apply here any longer. We knew in advance that a pop up restaurant was going to be open the nights we’d chosen to stay but were assured it wouldn’t be loud or late. Sadly that wasn’t the case. Thursday morning we were subjected to dance music at 8.30am whilst “ enjoying “ our morning coffee on the patio. That evening, after we’d got back from our meal out at Massa ( highly recommended) we couldn’t open the patio door as the music was now at nightclub noise level and as bassy. It’s now approaching midnight and with the door closed and TV on ( we couldn’t sit outside as it was uncomfortably loud) could still here the ridiculously loud awful tunes. My partner went to reception and was told ‘ There’s not a lot we can do, it’s the manager of Circa ( the pop up restaurant) that needs to be spoken to. So, he came to speak to my partner, and he said he’ll speak to the DJ. Needless to say, nothing changed. Surely the residents of the hotel take priority over a temporary restaurant? But no, not in this case, they couldn’t care less. We were due to stay Friday night but have opted to check out, how disappointing for us. We will never stay here again, because customer service is not high on their agenda. So if you’re looking for Bijou, boutique and care for its clientele, don’t stay here.
