The Lion at Malpas

Have stayed at the Lion before and it was just as good this time. The Hotel room we had was beautifully decorated, laid out and the appointed. The food (we had dinner and breakfast) was fabulous. Last but not least was the team....You could not asked for better service...thank you!!

Just came back from a 1 night stay here, couldn’t recommend enough. Our room was lovely, very spacious, it had everything we needed. The bed was very comfy, we had a lovely nights sleep with no outside noise either. We had food in the restaurant which was delicious, brilliant chefs. We also had breakfast before we set off this morning and couldn’t have asked for more options/better quality food. The staff here are all so nice. I believe it was management that noticed it was our daughters birthday and made the effort to talk to her and then also arranged for the staff to come to the room with a brownie some candles and all sang her happy birthday which made her night! The lady at breakfast this morning was very attentive too. Thank you all for lovely stay :)

Very impressive place, clean, tidy warm and cosy. We will be back would recommend excellent hotel.

We stayed here for a birthday treat and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We booked the Bakery Suite which was excellent. It was spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. There was a sitting area downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bathroom was excellent with a roll top bath and large separate shower with M&B toiletries. We also ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and on both occasions the food was superb. Add to this really friendly and welcoming staff, this all made for a lovely stay. Highly recommend.

Great location for exploring Malpas and the surrounding countryside. A very comfortable room with good quality furniture and sundries. Lots of storage and the shower was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty and the mince pies left in our room on Christmas Eve were a nice touch.

Staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely and clean and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We stayed as we were attending a wedding nearby but the village and surrounding area were gorgeous. Would definitely recommend!

I cancelled my booking over 48 hours before my stay - well within their terms and conditions . However they refused to give me a refund so have had to make a formal complaint to Visa. Please be careful if you find yourself in a similar position. They cannot be trusted!

Room was amazing, exceptionally clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bar/restaurant area was really cosy and food was amazing. Will definitely be back!
