The architecture is beautiful, the food very tasty, the staff friendly. That was the positive. The negative: the inconsistent service level, the inadequate infrastructure (air conditioning), the management. For instance, the supposedly ecological Airco system is inappropriate and insufficiently strong to cool the rooms to a normal airco level. After 2 days of nonstop -day and night, closed doors- airco on maximum setting, supplemented by ceiling fan, the temperature did not touch below 23 degrees. Maybe not a problem for some, but if you like to sleep in a room of 20 degrees or below, it is not pleasant. The (one side open) restaurant can be closed with glass doors and they do that for breakfast which, with the inadequate air conditioning, makes you feel like you are in a greenhouse. The pool light in our private pool did not work and was repaired only after 3 days and frequent complaining. Service was inconsistent. Dirty glasses were sometimes replaced, sometimes not. Turn down evening service was different each time . One time on each bed a chocolate, the other night not or only on 1 bed (we had 2 bedrooms) . For a hotel that wants to belong to the top of Crete and for which we paid 1215 euro !!! per night you expect much more and better! It is not pleasant or relaxing if you have to constantly 'complain' about everything. At no time was any compensation for all this suggested either. We can say that the service level is below par for this category of hotel. If you compare this to the service level of Four Seasons hotels, for instance, it can even be called very underwhelming and substandard .
