I stayed in a standard cabin. Which was standard. The bed was too soft for my preference. Small holes in walls allowed tge local wildlife inside, from small lizards to spiders etc. Some may enjoy that ithers may not. No daily housekeeping. Not sure why bunk beds in every cabin. A sofa would be preferred to watch tv from.

great to use the outdoor artesian bathing facilities. New owners very welcoming. The facilities within the room we stayed was dated and would benefit from a refresh & update

We absolutely adored the slab hut at the Saltbush Retreat. The room had lovely period charm, with all the modern conveniences of a well provisioned room, with kitchenette. The queen bed was one of the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel, and the outdoor baths were a very relaxing way to unwind. To top it off, Wendy was the most perfect host - accommodating and very friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.

On our two week Qld. outback road trip this accommodation certainly excelled. We received a warm welcome on arrival and the hosts were courteous and helpful. Loved the set up in the slab hut and enjoyed using the outdoor bathtubs to soak in , have a drink and watch the sunset. Easy 2 to 3 minute drive into the town centre but within walking distance of the Qantas Museum and Stockman's Hall of Fame. Highly recommend Saltbush Retreat for a true outback experience.

The whole experience was wonderful and we will definitely stay there again if we go back out to Longreach. Thanks go to Ron and Wendy for their hospitality and service.

A beautiful clean place to stay. The staff were very lovely and helpful. Loved the relaxing pool area. Can’t wait for our return visit!

Saltbush Retreat is a great place to stay it is very peaceful and the management are so lovely we will stay there next time we travel through.
