Number 8 the Townhouse

È vicino alle antiche mura della città di Londonderry ed è molto comodo per la visita. Tuttavia, la camera è leggermente piccola, ma il bagno è spazioso. Ctrip non mi ha inviato la password in tempo e l'ho ricevuta chiamare il proprietario per completare il check-in.

No 8 The Townhouse La posizione era centrale. Il check-in è stato molto semplice tramite l'uso di una tastiera. La stanza era molto piccola e aveva bisogno di essere decorata. L'arredamento e la biancheria erano molto vecchi. Il bagno era pulito ma la qualità di entrambi gli asciugamani era scadente e molto sfilacciata. Non c'era il tappo del lavandino e il tappo della vasca perdeva. Le forniture di base per tè e caffè erano disponibili nella stanza ma non sono state rifornite durante il nostro soggiorno. La nostra stanza era sul retro della proprietà e i piccioni nell'edificio abbandonato dietro erano rumorosi e hanno avuto un impatto significativo sul nostro sonno. La colazione era molto semplice, sarebbe esagerato definirla continentale. Nel complesso siamo rimasti molto delusi dal nostro soggiorno e non consiglieremmo questa sistemazione ad altri in visita a Derry.

Myself and my father stayed here over the weekend (11-13/10/2024) due to the fact my father previously stayed here in 2018 and we wanted to support local business where possible. During my father's last stay (which I appreciate was pre COVID and a long time ago) he highly rated the service and breakfast offered, based on this we booked again. The rooms are shabby. The mattresses are cheap and uncomfortable, akin to the cheap ones provided by student landlords. The bathroom had no plug in the sink, the flush button on the cistern was broken off. The shower had the last guests half used radox shower gel left on the side. The toilet cistern also continually filled so was noisy. The towels, although clean were all frayed at the edges and torn. The kettle for tea and coffee still had the old water from the previous guest left in it. There was a television but no remote so therefore unwatchable. The breakfast offered cannot even be described as continental. Toast, cereal, apples, bananas, yogurts, tea, coffee and orange juice, which was self serve. No pastries offered. No cooked breakfast any more. There is a small lounge area at the reception but this is locked when the proprietor is out. I feel almost bad writing this because, Ciaran, the proprietor, is a lovely person and really amiable but the standards over the years have drastically slipped. It is such a shame. As according to my father this place used to be top notch.

Really loved this place! I stayed recently with my 14 year old daughter and Kieran went above and beyond. The location is fantastic with great views of the city walls. Loved the good quality towels and toiletries and breakfast items. Would definitely stay again!
