St Christopher's Oasis, London Bridge - Hostel

I had the misfortune of having to cancel my reservation here due to my mother dying. I am in shock. I was immediately put on hold for 7 minutes and 30 seconds before I hung up. I call back only to get a young person who came across as daft to me because she wasted almost 5 minutes of my time looking for my reservation and debating with me whether I booked through their site or booking dot com. I clearly stated the first time your site. I asked for the manager. Not forthcoming so I hang up & call back. A man brusqely answers the phone & I begin to explain again reason for call & he cuts me off. He told me that he didn't care that my mother died and no refunds and then started to threaten me about not going above his head. I hung up and sent support a message. The background was extremely loud. The front desk people were rude, unprofessional and have limited social skills in my opinion. They simply couldn't be kind to someone who had just lost their mother, and say it would be taken care of. I do not recommend this particukar hostel.

Great bar downstairs and super social. Good meeting place and karaoke on Mondays. Comfortable beds and room. Clean showers. The curtains around the beds are too small and so light bothers other guests The luggage room is malfunctioning repeatedly. Another customer opened a locker to find someone else's belongings.... When I went to get my bag, the machine asked me to put in 2.50 GBP x 3 times and I had to go to reception to get them to unlock my locker for me (they gave me back my money). It is not convenient to access the luggage room on Monday evenings due to "club" night and so I had to walk back and forth through the warren of floors because no one explained I needed to go outside to get into the bar area. They gestured randomly towards the staircase with the out of service elevator. Also, the ratio of showers / toilets to guests are not sufficient except at 4am...but toilets surprisingly clean.

It’s a decent hostel near many touristy spots und a underground station. The rooms are clean and the staff is were friendly. The breakfast could be better but for the price okay. The common bathroom could be cleaned more often and the common room is always very crowded and to tiny for big groups.

Stayed in a female only room. One female was clearly having self fun by the noises being made. Room had no air con and felt awful

Great base for a few nights stay in London. Would recommend a private pod, they were really comfortable and all you need for that extra bit of privacy. Shared facilities were fine, no lengthy wait for the bathroom or shower. If you’re looking for an early nights sleep be aware Belushi’s Bar downstair can get very noisy and the music goes on quite late but it wasn’t really an issue.

Good stay, rooms maybe a little bit cold. bed sheets and blankets could be of better quality. Close to big and famous Borough food market. You can eat breakfast by prepaid billing on your stay price which is cheaper. The hostel is close to public transportation.
